I made this pattern in a sweater knit, view D without the mock neck. I absolutely love it, and it came together easily.

Wonderful!I would love to try it again in a sweater knit!

I had some liberty knit I was waiting for the right pattern for. I have know sewn it up using this pattern after watching you. Even though I reduced the width of the cuff it could do with more. I pleated the sleeve and added about 2 inches to the bodice. I love it. This is the second knit pattern I have copied from you.

not sure how i didn't see this comment...Glad I can inspire you! I really love this pattern but yes I agree...i think i could also add about 2" to the bodice.

You did an AWESOME job! BTW, look at the back of the pattern, the lengths are usually listed there. Happy Sewing!

This top looks really good on you. I do agree with you that the sleeves need to be shorter but otherwise it's a nice fit. The fabric is gorgeous but I haven't seen it at my JoAnn's store. I will look again at my next visit.

Thank you! I have such a small joanns..not a lot to choose from at my location.

BOO! Sewed this in Halloween fabric that looks like mummy wrappings with glow-in-the dark green eyes peeking out. It turned out great in view A that has poufy sleeves and then long tight wristbands that accentuate the mummy wrappings. This pattern is not just theatrical --> I love it overall & intend to make another top like this for every day wear.

i saw that fabric you describe at joanns..I bet it is so cute.. and yes I do love this pattern!

Thank you so much for posting this video! I like your hacks. I'm making view A now, all I have left to do is the hem. Next time, I'll try gathering the sleeves instead of making the pleats.

I think pleats add a nice look. ..they just seem to take longer although I would like to take the time to do them one of these days.

Just bought this fabric. You look great in it and the style of the shirt with the band at the waist is super flattering on you.

Love your top!!! Your adjustments turned out awesome!! I plan to make this top and I've been worried about the band but I feel better now after watching this video because there's still space for the belly. .... I need lots of space. Thank you for sharing!!

Hi Delilah: first wanna say that I absolutely LOVE all your reviews and tips. I made View A without the band and based on your review I sized down as well even on the cuffs (still loose,) but LOVE the top. Used a cotton jersey knit. Pattern came together super well! I followed a tip from another seamstress I follow on KZbin who suggested using starch spray (and ironing,) to keep the rolling of knit at bay and it totally works. Thanks again!

Did you size down? My usual size would've had 6 inches of ease around the bust, so I sized down 2 sizes. Hopefully it'll fit!

I didn't realize that this top had pleats in the sleeves. now i might be able to justify that it's different enough from all of the other myriad sweater patterns that i already own to pick it up. thanks? LOL

I find that double brushed poly is clingy. You might get a better fit if you use a mid to light weight jersey for this type of pattern. You also might consider taking the shoulder width in a bit. The shoulders look a bit wide on you. I like your videos. You do a nice job. Can you show us how you do gathering with a serger?
@SimplyDelilah3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips! I always like hearing what others say and how they view it. I put together this video that gives examples and shows how to use your serger for gathers! kzbin.info/www/bejne/ml7Zp5Wwhaupe68

I was working on view C today. My sleeves turned out too long and the short cuff was way too big. I will be ripping off the cuffs and redoing them. If they are snug enough the length will probably be fine and allow for more sleeve poof. I am 5’5” and added one inch to the bodice. My bust is a 39.5 and my waist is 34.5. I made a size 14 and feel like the size fits great in the bust and hem band at the high hip. I used a double brushed poly too. I’m going to love this top once I get it finished! I want to make the view A sleeves next time. Your top looks really gorgeous!
@SimplyDelilah3 жыл бұрын
thank you! yeah we have about the same measurements because i'm 5 4" 40" bust so I could easily make a size 14 as well.

Hi Delilah , I’m new to your channel. I watched your fall makes and love the dresses you made! You mention that you don’t follow the directions? I find McCall’s patterns hard to follow, I don’t always understand there directions so I avoid buying them......so short story long.......did you follow directions on the dresses you made? Thanks! Cindy in Canada.

If I can figure out what goes where then I don’t follow instructions because yeah they can be confusing! But I also stay away from complicated patterns like blazers and placket and button down shirts and collars.

Lol I didn't pleat either.. just garhered

I love your top but I have a question - do you find that DBP “clings” and gets staticky (if that’s a word) in the cold winter weather?
@SimplyDelilah3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t noticed that yet…hopefully it doesn’t happen since you said something! 😂
@angienorman59743 жыл бұрын
I think pleating would be easier and a cute look. Also. Sleeve length is very up to each person. I have long arms and could have added more length to the pattern. It is not a flaw in the design.
@SimplyDelilah3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips! I didn't even consider that I might just have short arms.
