Thank you! I appreciate that you get to the patterns without tons of extraneous chatter. One small hint: could you also include the line art with the pattern envelope so we can see more how they are put together?

Great review on the new patterns. I've been off of Simplicity for rather a long time unless I needed something very basic. However, these new pieces have renewed my interest in the pattern line. On Simplicity 3003--yoked dress with heavy gathers, I think it would work quite well with any sort of light-weight and drapey fabric. Back of the envelope suggests poplin as one option but to me that seems way wrong to achieve a good looking dress. If the sewist chooses a cotton and also does heirloom sewing, adding about in inch or so of smocking would go along way in controlling the vast amount of gathers. Women with small bust measurements would appreciate that aspect unless the sewist opts to reduce the amount of gathers used. I think I might give this pattern a try but as a top; and maybe jazz up the yoke with some embroidery. As this pattern stands, I totally agree with your opinion, but as a tinkerer, I'm intrigued to see what I can do with it. LOL Simplicity 3002, yep, need that one. I don't seem to have any good shirts in my closet. Simplicity 3003, need that one, too. My winter tops are looking shabby so need to get going on that. The coats and jackets you reviewed. Oh they all look great. I especially like the little short ones for something warm to toss on when it's cold but the trash needs taking out or dragged to the curb. I don't like wearing a heavy garment when doing outdoor chores because it's too easy to get overheated and want to toss off the coat (and 5 seconds later you're freezing again) but shouldn't. I haven't made a coat in a while; time to give it a whirl again.

What is the pattern number for the Butterick wrap pants that YOU made? I’ve been looking for that design.
