Thank you so much for the reviews and the details in which you review. I appreciate that. I really like the DD planners. This is the first time in my adult life where is consistently used a planner and bought the same planner two years in a two. Because I was not sure how much I would like the DD, I purchased their line at Target. What I really like about those is the cost, and the personalization because of the thick clear pocket cover. I also like it's pretty but elegant. Like you, I do not carry my planner around but I am finding the need to do that more and more and as responsibilities with our ministry have changed. This very inexpensive planner is very durable and I could carry it around and I believe it would hold up. I do like the simply coloring inside. I do wish the paper was thicker and brighter. My only challenge with this planner is that I am finding that it would be better for me to have a daily rather than a weekly which they do not offer in the style. We are homeschooling now and do a block scheduling, I have various events, commitments, basketball, gymnastics etc. and would be better for me to see my events in order of time. I feels so unorganized if I have basketball listed at 8pm first and my friends wants to have coffee at 11am. Anyways, just wanted to add that there are other DD options that work well that budget friendly. I will be investing in the DD original vs the Simplified planner thanks to your help!

I loved hearing all the details you love about the Target DD planner and how you have used it! I agree with you that Target is a great place to planner shop- especially if you are new to planning and need to try out some layouts to see what works best for you! It sounds like you know the Daily will be what you need! I hope it works for you and serves you well in 2024:) thanks for watching and taking time to chat;)

Amanda - what would we do without your comprehensive reviews?! Thank you! I love the 'prettiness' of the Emily Ley - the whiter cleaner paper, and added pops of colour, however I prefer the Day Designer layout and weekend pages. If only Day Designer would add some colour and use a cleaner whiter paper (I don't care for the greyish look of their paper) then, for me at least, it would be the perfect Daily!

First of all...your so kind! Thank you for the sweet words:) Second: I understand those wishes! I would like a little color too in DD, But I would really like it if they printed their date bigger at the top. I have trouble seeing that;) LOL.

I agree about the date needing to be more visible too.

Amanda…. Are you able to do a comparison video of the simplified planner VS the Simply Yours planner? You reviewed both separately but I keep flipping back and forth haha and can’t decide

Hi Abigail. I am sorry I don't remember a simply yours planner review. Do you mean the Self-care planner by Simple Self co.? And I am already booked on KZbin for the next several months...I don't have that comparison planned. I am sorry!

@@AmandasFavorites aww man I confused you with someone else who reviewed it a year ago. They were almost as detailed as you so I thought it was you 😊 my apologies. But you should look into it and maybe review it down the road it reminds me so much of Simplified planner but I know you’d break down the differences beautifully-- it’s the Simply Yours day planner by planned proper I believe the creator is Bailey Shea. For now I’ll go with simplified planner until you get around to reviewing the Simply Yours Day Planner 😉

Wow! Thank you . I have spent at least 25 hours of planner searching. Having used the Daily Day Designer for last 2 years, I am ready to carry something smaller. I MUST have it with me! Thank you for SHOWING the comparison. I am ready for something a bit more ‘fun’ than the DD, BUT I need the month to start in July, AND I need it to be portable on a daily basis. Thanks for the great videos. Please keep on reviewing!

@@AmandasFavorites One more thing! Amanda, have you reviewed Whitney English Planners? Not seeing! Would love to see that too! Having come this far, I think I am actually leaning towards her weekly planner as it has a lot of open, lined blank pages in the back. Simple for the week, but a lot of lines on the R side of the weekly pages for writing in necessary things, especially when the to do sometimes carry over to different days.

Hi Amanda. I love your videos. Are there any daily planners that you have found that give Saturday and Sunday full pages? My weekends are often busier than my weekdays, and while I love the Day Designer, I need one that gives me more room on weekends. Thank you!
@AmandasFavorites6 жыл бұрын
The first one that comes to mind is InkWELL Press. It is an undated daily planner. So you get a page per day. I personally love the page layout and their amazing paper quality! I can't wait to see the changes they make on it in their September release for the 2019 year! This was their first year to do a daily, so I am sure they will be making some changes and hopefully offering it in an O-ring option too. Right now it's a bound book. I went up and looked through everything I've reviewed and here's the list: IWP (mentioned above) Undated Clever Owl--BEST BARGAIN EVER! Really amazing planner. and can start any month you want! Agendio (pricey)--But design your entire page layout The Daily Grace (undated) 90x Goal Planner (2 page spread per day-Undated) Panda Planner (2 page spread per day-Undated) Prospr Planner (2 page spread per day-Undated) Phoenix Journal (2 page spread per day-Undated) Cossac (1 page per day Undated) Those are all I have in my hands and have done reviews on. I hope that helps! I have a daily Planners playlist where you should be able to find all those reviews and links;)

I have a full review of Day Designer (office Max/depot planners) coming up this week. Those are sold online on Day Designer.com or in the office Max/Depot stores. I am not sure if Target will be carrying that full line anymore.....Day designer was bought by Blue Sky, and most labels will now just say Day Designer. I don't have a daily from that line to do a side by side with the Flagship Day Designer....I only have weeklies. If I get a Daily of that line I will do it;)

I actually prefer the simplified planner over the day designer (the mini is too small and the original size is too heavy to carry around everyday). I like the simplified planner paper much better, it is much smoother to write on. I like the way the simplified planner looks (it is much more minimalist and I like how each day of the week has a color associated with it). I really hate that the day designer has the 4 boxes at the top (due, dinner, dollars, and don't forget)... I usually just cover these with a post-it note so I can write reminders or motivational quotes. The one thing that made me leave the simplified planner is the prewritten to-do list for Sunday. As a graduate student who does a lot of class/work assignments, class/work readings, work appointments, knitting circle and meet ups with people, this really makes Sunday a non-usable day for me (I mean they put both weekend days on one sheet). I just can't justify spending 60 dollars for a planner when I can't use it everyday. If simplified would remove this I would happily go back even though it costs more than day designer.

Is there a bump in the Emily Ley o-ring? When you turned it on it's side to compare the sizes it looked like it had an odd bump.

No, I think your amount of description is perfect! I am very detail-oriented and certain features of planners can be "deal breakers" for me, so I appreciate knowing exactly what I'm getting before I purchase an item. I also really enjoyed your collaborative videos with your sister, because it's fun to see multiple perspectives on the same planner (for example, the Passion Planner video you did). I think I'm at the point now where I know exactly what I need in a planner, and it's just a matter of finding The One that fits all my needs. I'll definitely keep watching your videos, because you're always on top of the newest releases and yearly changes to existing planner options. Love it!

As much as I love a planner review, I feel like a lot of your information is very repetitive and I've watched several videos where you give the same information.
@AmandasFavorites6 жыл бұрын
I generally make my videos by taking into account that many people have never seen any of my videos (or any video) on this planner before. So I do repeat the same info. Also if I am doing a comparison I have to repeat all the same info I gave in the original video just about that certain planner......that's how I compare the details. I appreciate constructive criticism. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your detailed videos. So glad to have stumbled on your channel. This will be my first daily planner, I am coming from a small passion weekly planner, and I want to make sure I get what's going to work for a whole year because these things aren't cheap! I am so torn between the 2 planners. I like the EL for the having the extra hours on the weekdays, the monthly starting on Sunday and the colors. I am not a huge fan on the Sat/Sun page for EL. I like the DD mainly for the Sat/Sun page and the layout is nice. I wish it had the couple extra hours and the calendar to start on Sunday for the monthly. Now to just figure out what the differences are really going to mean for me and what I can live with for a year.

Thank you for your kind words of support:) I really appreciate you taking the time to share you dilemma! You have outlined the pros & cons for you so well;) I think you just have to decide which one has the cons that you can live with better;) What's the deal breaker for you? Both are great planners. If you love more boxes to fill in for top 3 and different categories then go with DD. If you like less structure to you page so you can make it what you want it to be then Simplified is your pick:). And if they are so close...I say just go with your gut...go with the one that will make you the happiest to look at and work in day in and day out;) Good luck!
