Thank you, Lisa & TRW Crew! Wished I'd seen this years ago. Bought some TRW files but couldn't get them sized correctly for the Pazzles but now have the Cricut and same issue. However, just upgraded to the Cameo 3 and have played in Inkscape so this is going to be awesome. Not sure if I will have the same sizing issues with the Business Edition (which I have) but at least I'll be able to fix it with Inkscape. Thank you again!!!

There are no "dumb" questions- In this industry, nothing is self-explanatory! Basically, if you want to resize your rhinestone templates to a larger/smaller size, you will have to also use larger/smaller rhinestones. They work together! -TRW Caroline

I have three Cricut machines and I think I need a silhouette! Lol. I bought this design and haven’t tried cutting it yet, however I was thinking perhaps if we were to ‘combine,’ we’re essentially making the template and if we exported or saved it as an svg, it might work fine when importing to DS. As long as we make a note of the size of the templates and make sure to resize once in Cricut. No? Hmmm.. I have a feeling I’m going to eventually invest in a silhouette for ease. I’ll have to try! Hey Millie, You are correct that if you import an SVG file, it does tend to get distorted, unfortunately. This issue does not occur with Silhouette as SVG files are native to Silhouette to be imported, so you should be good at that point. I would definitely recommend getting a Silhouette Cameo 3 if you're wanting to get into rhinestones, because DS does not have a rhinestone panel, whereas Silhouette does and it is awesome! ^_^ TRW Nick

I use Design Space and I make the template in Corel. Then I combine it...the template square and all of the rhinestone circles. It makes it into one image. Then I export the SVG and upload into Design Space. I just resize it when I import it.

QUESTION: I have been setting my stone size to .135 as Matt showed in the tutorial...but if I use this method first before taking it in to Design Space, am I stuck with the stone size then on the template?

Resize in your secondary software first and then simplify. However, the .135 size is only really necessary if you're using Diamond Cut stones. - TRW Haley

Unfortunately there is not a simple way to create your own rhinestone design in Cricut, the easiest way would be to design one in a second software such as one we use like Corel Draw with our Design wizard. It's an issue with the transfer from Corel to Silhouette, Nick is helping to sort it out. Currently Silhouette isn't cutting the correct rhinestone size.

If you are creating your own rhinestone design, all you will need to do is open your rhinestone options and select the sizes on the right hand side, and then start creating the design If you are working with a text, you will need to type with the point sizes that TRW has provided in the purchased font photo If this is a design that TRW has created, you will need to stretch or shrink your design based upon the sizes that you would like You will then need to ungroup your design and release rhinestone paths so that you can select a single stone and make sure that it is the size that each respective stone size needs to be Hope that helps! -TRW Abby

If you're using a different design, there's a chance that the design is already ungrouped. If you're able to click and drag the boxes away from each other, they have already been ungrouped. -TRW Bri

Design Space does have a tendency to take a file and make it larger than it is, therefore a second design program, such as Corel Draw, is recommended before importing a rhinestone design into Design Space. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching, -TRW Bobbi

Hi Natalie! Yes you can, and I'd argue that it's a bit easier to do in Corel although we don't have a specific video on it. That's how we create our Crafter files, using CorelDraw and the TRW Design Wizard. We like to knockout the rhinestone design through the template, so that we are left with a single object, rather than a rectangle with hundreds of dots on it. These upload much faster to Design Space. -TRW Erika

When we make our Crafter files, we use the Magic Separator button in the Templates tab on the Wizard. Be sure to click Same Page first, so the templates are on the same page as your design. Otherwise, when you export, Corel sends each page separately. After you have the yellow templates made, weld all the dots on each template together, shift click to the yellow template behind it and click Back minus Front in your Corel toolbar up on top. This knocks out the dots through the template, which is now one object with several holes in it. Do this for each template you have created. You can use the 'Add Length and Height" button in the top right of your Wizard (immediately to the right of the buttons with the pink and blue dots). This shows the size of the template. WELD those dimensions so that you are able to bring the entire design into Design Space without issues. Export the design (click CTRL and E together) as svg. Go to Design Space and upload that svg. If you did add the dimensions, be sure to Ungroup all text from the yellow template boxes and then resize the templates to the dimensions shown. -TRW Pilar
