Outside it is stainless steel but inside basket has to be Teflon ( NonStick), otherwise how can you cook without oil. Steel basket will get burned. Non stick is not bad as far as you take care of it. It shouldn't get scratched, that's all you need to take care.

Yes, I agree but electric cookers are more for convenience and safety. It doesn't make mess and doesn't need monitoring. Great for working people and Kids living in hostel. I use it almost everyday. While i am busy in shoot, i pour the ingredients and put the timer. It cooks automatically without any intervention. So, it is a helpful appliance.
