Just moved from Southern Nevada to Gulf Coast Mississippi and the builder put centipede grass down, I am trying to find all the info I can about proper maintenance of this grass, your videos are great and i am learning alot. So far I hand water everday around 6am and again around 4pm to 6pm and am finding that I control the runoff much better on sloppy areas of my yard. I have had to reseed my yard many times due to grass dieing from contour of land, hence why I went to hand watering. Thanks again for the simple approach to centipede grass.

Fantastic lawn!!!! The edges are perfect I love the way the grass is edged soft. Not hard like when they use a string trimmer or stick blade. Best lawn on KZbin or any I've seen 👍👍

@@USAFVET1998 I’m bad about mowing high but it helps shade out most weeds. I’d hate to measure it after all this rain. Wouldn’t be shocked if it’s at least 5”!! But I try and mow it no higher than 3”. I do a light dethatch with handheld rake- think the Groundskeeper maybe? Off Amazon each spring.

Yard Mama absolutely! I just threw in some on my side yard this spring, it’s next to some zoysia and my centipede looks amazing compared to his. It’s a great grass if it’s taken care but will decline fast and doesn’t self repair as well or fast as other warm season grasses. But keep up the work looks great!

E Z honestly I spent a LOT of time researching. After I learned all I could through books, magazines, internet, home extension office, then I learned about soil tests. I would suggest starting with a soil test so you know where you stand. And thanks!

Long time, thanks for the vid. Your yard looks beautiful. I have those same rain gages. Thought they were much smaller from the pictures, lol. What height do you reel mow at? Looks at least 2 inches. I just aggressively scalped my centipede 2 days ago (wrong time of year, I know) in preparation of my new gas powered reel mower. The fiskars was kicking my butt.
