Yard looks great!! Thanks for the information on centipede grass. Just one question. How low do you mow your centipede grass? I read that the highest it should be mowed is 2”. Thanks again for your videos and help! 👍

@@USAFVET1998 I’m bad about mowing high but it helps shade out most weeds. I’d hate to measure it after all this rain. Wouldn’t be shocked if it’s at least 5”!! But I try and mow it no higher than 3”. I do a light dethatch with handheld rake- think the Groundskeeper maybe? Off Amazon each spring.

You know I did not. One of the big KZbinrs recommended that I actually not dethatch centipede since she’s so sensitive and all. I enjoy the exercise in the front yard too. But I’m just dethatching on an as- needed basis at this point.

Best looking Centipede I have ever seen. I have 2 acre Centipede yard in the Pine Belt of South Mississippl. I dream of getting my Centipede like yours. Keep up the great work!! Mine has improved after 6 years of neglect. I have found that pre-emergence is about all you need along with a small amount of Iron in late summer. Better left alone for the most part.

in southwest Florida I have had the same issue with spots in my centipede lawn which looks good great and its not even supposed to grow here in my area super high ph 8 . Spots you are showing ended up being billbugs which in over 60 years here and I have never had a problem with them. Sevin was what I found to be the best control .Just before sunset you should be able to see a few of the mature billbugs on edge of your driveway but I believe the larva is doing the most damage and could be easily mistaken for brown patch

@@yardmama3660 Yea had a lawn business for about 15 years in the 80s and 90s in south Florida and never had a issue or problem at all with them .But it seems allot of todays pesticides don't even phase them even know they are labeled for them . Sevin granules work

I was thinking to put some centipede grass on a 80mt2s weedy area but was a bit skeptical of how it might look.. Your lawn change my mind...

Nice to find information on centipede lawn from someone that actually has one and is in my neck of the country! I have bare spots and seeing a lot of runners now in April but they aren’t making roots from the stolons. Its like they are floating on top of the ground. How do I get them to make roots on the new growth?

I don’t . If I need to patch an area, I prefer sod. I have tossed some centipede seed out, but just once. Good to try and keep turf pretty even and flat.
