@melindabiggs7873 I had some wonderful ancestors who made great food and passed down the lessons learned, and we ate together as a family. We didn't eat out as kids except Pizza on Fridays.

I just found you and subscribed. I had to catch my breath all through the video. This was a staple growing up and currently. My Mutti had the same pots and made it the same way except she finished it by sautéing in the electric frying pan. Thanks for the memories and a wonderful recipe. ❣️

Lovely recipe and so nice to watch you cook. I am 77 lady and my gramma and mom saved bacon grease. It makes great pie crust as gramma used it in the old days. Have it in my fridge today as well. I used to make a dutch cabbage for my kids when they were young. Put milk in it and a bit of nutmeg. They loved it. This brings back memories to me.
@Homey_cookingbaking-vj2ouАй бұрын
I will look into making the Dutch cabbage.

A Polish dish I grew up with…we use smoked kielbasa instead of bacon..delicious
@kh23797Ай бұрын
Many thanks from England-my kind of home cooking. May we know your name? I air fried my bacon, retaining the fat, and added a few caraway seeds with that all-important pepper, then served with spaetzle pasta. A versatile recipe I'll keep using. My wife grates cabbage heart with carrot, then serves with a lemon and honey dressing on salad. Subscribed? Of course!

To solve the soggy bacon put it in last and toss with your noodles. Always save bacon fat it’s delicious for fried potatoes, for eggs, for searing meats
