A Beam, as a main Structural Element, resists Loads applied Laterally on its major axis which is generally known as bending as a mode of deflection and failure due to it as well as Shear which is produced as a total effect. Due to which Internal stresses, Strains, and Deflection of the beam are generated. Types of Beams are generally classified according to its supports conditions, materials used for casting as well as cross-sectional area. From this study, one can learn about types of Supports, types of loads acting on a beam, Shear force and Bending moment calculations as well as Diagram of it, Maximum Shear force, and Bending moment and cover the calculation of Point of Contraflexure.
