I happen to kno some Hans techs. 1. U can animation cancel the pause between shots. With his first and third shotgun he has a shot then a pause u can melee during that pause and then shoot again. 2. U can do the same thing with shield if ur quick enough. Shoot then swap and shield during the pause recoil thing. then swap and shoot rinse and repeat.

Hip shots with melee is the best option for engagement, ADS should be used for fleeing target or sniping low healths. Also try mixing in the goo trap, your active can slow and neutralize but with the goo just sneak up on a target...goo and then instantly start unloading on them with hip shots.
