Black Hole stars or Quasi Stars might've existed, but also might've not existed. As Kurzgesagt explained in this video and in the Largest Black Hole video they might be one explanation to the Supermassive Black Holes we have today. Since their mass and the age of the universe don't seem to correspond as they would need far more time to consume matter or to merge with other black holes. For now we can't verify if they existed, but they are an interesting concept that would allow today's Supermassive black holes to exist. I personally hope that they did indeed exist.

Actually the Black hole formed from these stars could've been the seeds for ultramassive Black holes like Ton 618

Another potential explanation for supermassive black holes is direct collapse. The hyperdense region described in the video still existed. However, matter is flowing into that region faster than in the black hole star scenario. Even before fusion can start a critical density is reached and the core of the gas cloud collapses into a singularity bypassing the stellar stage completely.

@@complex314i This explanation however has many problems. First of all, the gravity that cause the creation of the black hole should be so strong that it outmatch nuclear fusion. And more, since there would be no radiation pressure that blows away the rest of the gas cloud, the black hole should absorb all the matter in the cloud. That means that every supermassive black hole should have at least 100 million solar masses, but many black holes are smaller

The answer to the question "How do they know that without any evidence?" Is usually the as as "How did we know about Black Holes before getting evidence of their existence?". Simply put, their existence is implied by the math or makes the math check out.

I always thought that since the matter in the early universe was so dense, black holes born in that ages were constantly absorbing mass whenever they would go. Because the entire universe was sort of a foggy, superhot place full of gas. There was no such thing as an idle black hole because there was literally no place in the universe that was devoid of matter...

When you pause and ask questions like "how do we know about them?" are you asking like you're making a good point? Like they haven't thought of that? Or are you simply "thinking aloud" and expect to get an answer at some point in the video?

They do exist because we have taken the photo of them I don't call them a black hole start because black holes are made out of stars but they're technically not because do the opposite of emitting lighe they eat light and they have to exist because they're the makers of galaxies
