It’s crazy!! I live in Cali and I order from Nevada not that far but shipping wax is fkn insane lol it’s better to find a supplier near and pick up like candle science. They’re in Nevada so I need to just order up and pick up since they are down the street from my in-laws lol😂 but I don’t learn my lesson

@@JMICTHEBRAND. ordering feels so convenient and time efficient for us when we’re trying to balance so many things, so don’t be so hard on yourself. But I totally get it. Also trying to research local wholesale companies has proven to be so difficult for me?! Like how???

Definitely feeling that especially since I just started it’s like really pushing me to hunt for deals but it means going outside the vendor list I’ve been trying to build

I feel like what I make from selling I put it right back into another order of supplies which I feel is somewhat ok for now because it’s kind of paying for my hobby and hopefully business one day. Wondering the same though about is it worth it?

I totally agree with you and understand where you’re coming from. I moved from Chandler AZ to GA last year. I was blessed to find local vendors to buy supplies from but the prices aren’t even worth it at times. Even with me driving to pick them up myself 😩. Vending fees and all of the background fees we have made me say the same thing regarding it no longer being a business and more like a hobby at this point. I too make concrete vessels to cut costs I’m just not sure how long I want to do that. Being in GA there are so many other candle makers that I couldn’t even get into new markets even though my candles are dessert replicas. I’ve kind of given up and started making Resin products just to make some money when doing markets. Good luck to you all dealing with the struggle.

I love your videos and your personality. Just subscribed. Am interested in hearing more about the candle business not being much profit bc right now I’m trying to build a candle business but still new!! I often wonder if there will be any profit if I decide to go small business.

I started my candle business a few months back and there are no local wholesalers near me to get my products and shipping rates are crazy! I try to make my candles as cheap as possible for everyone so they can enjoy them but there is not much profit and I give a percentage to special needs animal shelter so I get less profit and sometimes I question my prices but I want everyone to enjoy my products at a low cost..😢

Finding a balance is so difficult. I think a lot of people are struggling with what to charge to keep customers, and what to charge in order to make a profit. I understand why some people take out loans or run their business but I just can’t see myself going that route. Best of luck to you ❤️ keep following your gut. Whatever that tells you!

you need better cheaper vendors. They're out there. These mainstream vendors like candle science and makesy etc. will bleed you dry.
