For the first run, the timing was actually pretty fine. Clint was running on JPN, which after the textboxes gets control at around 56.5s, whereas the US version you gain control at around 59s. (Official rules of first frame of startup being tied to 1.33s, both on N64)

Ive been pretty pumped for this race. But as soon as I started watching it, my first thought was "Are we gonna find another poopsock?" Did not disappoint. Watching this race got me back into the grove of trying to grind out a couple runs. So far Ive only gotten a 26:55 just going off of what I know, but I started to change my star-route to be closer to what we see in these races. I wont go for Dark World reds yet, because DW has been killing a lot of my runs (no surprise there), but I figured out how you guys do the Talon Bird quick in SSL as well as the faster setup for the triple jump to get Top of the Pyramid. I dont like going for the CCM Slide instead of DW reds, so I do the Bully in LLL instead. Was able to get down to a 24:15 just a little bit ago. A 2m 40s improvement. Hoping to try and grind out for a sub-20 at some point. Just gotta keep learning as I go lol.

When you have the handicapped timers you should just allow them both to start at the same time then tack the extra time to the final. It's the most consistent and least janky way to go about that. None of this "oh I'll just wait for x time" and trust it works out.
