Hi Stephan, always loved your videos! Can you show some maintenance and servicing tips/items for your vehicle after your amazing trips? Would love to see what are your maintenance items. Thanks and safe happy off-roading!

To be honest, I have a trusted mechanic, and it goes in there after every trip with another check-up before every trip. Oil changes every 5k. Service items are replaced as required.

Thanks for another great video, we always enjoy them because you are very experienced at this caper. Screws coming loose is a big issue on corrugations, hence the use of medium strength (blue) loctite. Congratulations Summer, you are doing a great job, it is good to see you out and about with your Dad learning all the tricks of travelling in remote Australia.

This is the best channel for outback trips IMO. Not much competition now that Brett Lewis has gone into early retirement. You seem to have 3 whip aerials mounted on the front of thr vehicle. What are they all for? Minor grumble - the audio quality is variable. I always carry a little Olympus digital sound recorder which provides an emergency back up when the main sound track fails. I have managed to rescue some priceless video clips which would have been lost otherwise. It's also great for recording background sound effects which get used sooner or later.
@AlloffroadAu2 жыл бұрын
thanks for the compliment, yes you are correct, I tried to improve in car sound but that backfired external mic picked up vibration, now changed to a Rode video mic for in-car which is way better given the noise. I do carry a Zoom H1 and yes also sometimes do bg sounds, started last trip again and should do it more often. One man show so hard trying to balance everything. 2 UHF aerials and one aerial for celfigo booster.

@@AlloffroadAu Yes there's a lot to think about when you must plan your trip and film the videos too esp. if you have to do it all yourself. For me the trip comes first so most of them don't get filmed.

Man I agree with them Lights...u need to use Loctite maybe 243 or263...tc
@AlloffroadAu Жыл бұрын
Yea I think the only reason they came loose was because the lights made contact with the bullbar on corrugations as they were a little too large the 7" now fit perfect and also have a washer.

Yes I have, looked at it recently again and did a review some time ago. Has many good things but you still cant download Australia wide maps so thats still a no go for me. I also find many of the maps very dull and with little contrast hard to read while driving.

On top of adding spring washers for nuts & bolts, it's always best to use loctite (and the likes) with them. This is a good reminder for me to bring spare nuts and bolts with my spares.👍 BTW, is petrol readily available from the same places where you can find diesel on the Oodnadatta track? PS. Summer is doing a terrific job and looks like the makings of a great chef.👌
@AlloffroadAu2 жыл бұрын
thanks for the suggestion a weak lock tight would have solved issue as well, on all my tripes even 1800km corrugation on the Canning never had light bolts coming loose but I guess there is a first for everything. Yes Summer did thoroughly enjoy the trip which is great to see in a society where digital devices become more important than anything else. Yes Petrol usually is available same as diesel. After events like the big bash it’s not unusual that some run out of fuel for a day or two.
