What happens is this: 1) Writers make a plot, may be good, may suck. 2) "The you can't say thats" look at the plot, take stuff out because of politics domestic/foreign, corporat sponsors, liberal agenda, and social media protest of the day. 3) Writers change stuff in plot, repeat 2 until what was barely okay sucks. Everything in tv/movies/music since 2000 sucks, literally EVERYTHING. I stopped watching tv in 2003 when I figured it out. Only thing that isn't the same is Cobra Kai which says this cancel culture liberal shit is shit.
