28:22 this hits close to home for me. In high school, I was absolutely terrible at math. No matter how hard I studied it, none of it would click for me. Up til 6th grade I was in advanced placement for math but it all changed when I submitted some homework I struggled with and the matg teacher slammed it on my desk and said "dont you ever turn in garbage like this in again" in front of the whole class. Fast forward to high school math, and I'm retaking a test during lunch break. My teacher is grading pages in the corner, and I'm the only one there. I started crying. I felt like such a failure because I HAD studied, and none of it was sticking. Unfortunately, the teacher didn't notice (or maybe they did, and they ignored it). In the end, I got a C in the class, so I managed to claw my way out, but for a student who got nothing but As and B+s throughout school, this still didn't feel great. Now, as a teacher, I am always careful how I interact with my students. Your words can absolutely leave lasting impressions on those kids. I don't pamper them, but I will never ever harshly criticize them, and they always deserve a 2nd or more chance in my eyes.
