Great to see even more progress made. Perfect pace, no rushing, slow, steady and precise wins the race. Trouble with being behind channel content is as fast as I watch one, there's another one or two videos published. 🙂That is not a bad thing though, quite the opposite. All the best Marc.

Definitely Darren this one is take it slow and get it right, can’t wait to get this one all painted and back on the road for the Mrs. I try to keep to at least two videos a week, so there is always something coming, thanks for supporting the channel 👍

Looking great man! Didn’t realise the inner wing had extra metal… need to consider that when working on mine! Thanks man. Keep up the amazing work. Even in a damp garage your killing it!

Cheers dude. Yeah where the front panel meets the inner wings I had to repair those due to rot but should be good now will try back once I put the front panel on. Cheers for watching 👍

Good job 👏 I thought the A panels were fully welded and not just tacked, you learn something new every day. Looking forward to the front end going on now.
@SimpsonsClassics2 жыл бұрын
Cheers buddy. If you ever see an unrestored mini you will see a little tack. But for me I always do a nice seam weld and blend it in. Cheers for watching not long now and it should look like a mini again 👍

Great work! I did both A panels on Bert, they both went well but I'm now struggling with my doors! 🙄. Always something 🤣

Thanks mate, argh no what’s up with the doors?

@@SimpsonsClassics I put a new piece of thread in two of the hinges and I've moved them slightly and now they don't line up properly. It's only adjustment but I've never done it before so it's a pain. The door now sits proud when shut!🙄

Looks great! This series is giving myself some motivation to start mine.. Out of interest what is the panel thickness difference between genuine and non-genuine?
@SimpsonsClassics2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael glad these videos are helping you. Off the top of my head I don’t know. Would need to check next time when I am in the garage I am sure there is specs online somewhere. There isn’t much in it but it’s definitely an advantage 👍

Looking good mate, I'm sort of at this stage. Was wondering will you be adding some plug or spot welds down the edge of the a panel? Or will the welds top and bottom be sufficient when fully welded up? Cheers
@SimpsonsClassics2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Elliot, I don’t tend to add welds there no. It’s more filler work and they really don’t need it. Once there seam sealer down the panel and it’s folded round and welded top and bottom it’s absolutely rock solid 👍
@elliotrawstrone61372 жыл бұрын
@@SimpsonsClassics cool I will go with that approach too then :) one less place for it to start rusting!

Do you only use heritage ? I am having a struggle with my wings I have put on as they weren’t heritage wings and they aren’t sitting right , would you recommend to get a pair of heritage ?
@SimpsonsClassics2 жыл бұрын
I would always recommend heritage if your budget can stretch to that. They are a thicker steel and a nicer fit but still take time to get nice. If you have caught the mpi project we did that was all pattern panels and it still fitted nice in the end. But took so much longer and I had to modify most the panels. All the best with your build buddy hope that helped.

I see this a lot , people grinding away in their garage without a dust mask. Don't do this ! I wear a mask all the time when grinding and everytime I take it of I see on the outside of the mask what I could've been breathing in , and it's not pretty I can assure you.

I appreciate the comment, I know I should be better as this. I am normally in a well ventilated place but do appreciate its not right. Thanks for the comment.
