Wheel/tire combo can make or break a car. You nailed it. Any car looks so much better with a filled up wheel well. Funny when you see muscle cars from the 60's with those skinny bias plys. It looks weird but, that's how it was. We had 400 HP monsters with drum brakes and skinny tires. How the hell we survived it is beyond me. If you learned to drive with what we had, you LEARNED how to drive. I love '67 to '69 darts and this baby is drop dead gorgeous 😍

But I stuffed a 440 727 reverse valve body 8 3/4 410 gear street car no spool TTI headers 3 inch magnaflows tipped down before the diff. Back in the early 70' my brother and I both ran manual shit valve bodies on our 340 street strip Demon and Dart 340's. They were 13 second cars before I went full race but the manual shift would always chirp the tires during mild acceleration starts. It always brought a grin from everyone watching. Full bore and you'd get anywhere from 10-20 ft of rubber hitting 2nd gear! That was special! Some people even thought we had a stick!😂

Man I'm so glad I found your channel. This is the way we did it in my day. I mean you're incorporating a few things we didn't have-electronics for tuning-but you're as basic as possible and still have such a sweet, kicking ass car with todays competitors. There were a couple of these GTS's in our driveway, but my sisters owned them. I admired them, borrowed once in a while, but I had other projects going and never tried to talk either out of them. I haven't looked at a MT tread pattern nor compound info in years, but I was a Mohawk street tire fan over MT in my day. I couldn't get the hook on the same size MT as I could with the Super Mag N50's. Later I used Hoosier and was happy with their performance.

Brother I couldn't wait to see this video. She looks, sounds and preforms incredible. I am extremely happy for you. I ran a Cheetah manual shift reverse pattern valve body. Personally I like a simple gated shifter for that application. I wonder if you can get something that you can still retain the factory look (just thinking outloud) Mine was a B&M series 60 shifter. Before the ratchet style. It was a simple shift, hit a stop, move the shifter over slightly, shift and hit a stop, etc. Simple but no worries of over shifting into third. Anyway, I absolutely love the complete package you have. Definitely one of the sweetest rides on the road (or track) Thank you for sharing Brother, stay strong.

ah this appeared in my yt suggested, so i recall that when i would race a full exhaust car with headers and collectors I would unbolt the 3 bolts and use one bolt to hold the pipe up there and spin the exhaust up and tighten down the bolt extremely tight to hold exhaust system in place up out of the way, sone used a hanger there too so it would not be dropping.

Do you have any holes in the throttle plates? Next time you have the carb off check to see how much distance the plates are in relationship to the idle transfer slot. The carb may be exposing to much transfer slot for a nice slow progression into the next stage of the carburetor and may need a couple small holes in the primary plates so you can close the plates more. It definitely will help smooth that idle out, and take out some of that stumble. If you have to give it a little gas to get the idle better it definitely needs a little bit more air. Tip in is the first thing You said, I definitely understand getting those air mixture screws out more, but the first thing I would have done is tune the tip in (accelerater pump discharge nozzles and cams). I had always liked to run my pump squirters just a hair lean right before stumble to make sure I was burning up all the fuel, and progressively tune the secondary pump cam a little bit more slower. Definitely need to dial in the tip in as you said wich the very first thing that comes to mind is the pump shots. Just because the carburetor makes more power on the Dino doesn't mean it makes more in the car, and doesn't guarantee the best times either from were the carburetor was set at. Great channel BADAZZ CAR. I used to own a Arlene Vanky 69 Barracuda small block and a handful of other Mopars. Love the Channel Joe.

Joe Your exhaust system looks good, i just recieved my 1 7/8 TTI Headers , now with my exhaust sytem i have 3 inch TTI. so who i bought car from had done this with the stepped tti system and Added Electric Cut outs. so i will remove the cut outs and use the Reducer to complete a 3 inch system , looks like it will be close to original pipes, quick tip when i put my tires on car I sat facing car and tire on lap hehe and lifted up to install and used legs as slight boost. also I did use the Reverse manual Valve body in my old cuda, that was ok with the slap stick but i slipped into reverse once so that was end of that good thing i had cheap tires !! they just spun in reverse and I popped into neutral, so I replaced it with B&M Prostk, so much nicer drag racing and on street

To tune that off idle/light throttle from 1200-2000 rpm with that carb, you need to reduce the emulsion stack and install transfer slot restrictors in the main body. Change the emulsion to 2 .028” per stack, one just below the squirter passage, the other just level with the top of the power valve threads. Then drill the passages in the main body aligned with the transfer slots with 5/32” drill bit, .266” deep. Tap with a 10-32 fluted bottoming tap. Install a 10-32 brass set screw drilled to .081” primary and .081” secondary to start. This reduces the transfer slot fuel to the same as a properly sized holley case baseplate. Then further reduce primary side from there for a nice clean 1200-2000 cruise.

4:26 It's a Mopar, you run them out the sides. Period. AAR Cuda, T/A Challenger, Viper, heck exhaust companies like Spintech made custom side exit kits for the Dakota RTs. Anything Nascar, stock car, Trans-am, even the SVT Lightning, you dump it before the rear tires out the sides. If you love mega-drone and the ground dust getting thrown up, turn downs under the body. If you're building a cruiser or restoring it, yeah run them out the back.

Dude, super sano Dart and good progress !! As you know, the dyno would have tuned the carb from 3500/4000 rpm up to WOT, so the idle, transition and cruise circuits will need to be dialled in. If your PRI metering block has transfer slot jets, put smaller ones in. The main jets wont come in to 2500+ rpm depending on your gearing. The TSJ controls the amount of fuel at off idle part throttle, not the main jets. To dial it in properly at idle and off idle, tune the Idle Air Bleed (IAB) and the Transfer Slot Jets (TSJ) using the AFR gauge as a guide. but let the plugs tell you what is happening in the chamber . The Transfer slots in the baseplate must not be exposed any more than .020/0.030" at the correct engine idle speed...if you have to go further than this to get the correct engine idle speed, you need more idle air . You could also add more air via small holes drilled in the throttle plates. Every combo is different but tune the IABs and TSJs first before adding any holes in the throttle blades. :)

Looks good. Exhsust work without a lift is painful. I'm curious about your carburetor tuning. I never have ran two different jets, k-hangers, metering rods ect between street/race. I tune for maximum performance, verify a safe A/F ratio, and I leave it once tuned. I think once you get your part throttle circuit figured out you'll find you can use the same tune all the time. Running best from idle to WOT only changes with altitude, air temp, vapor pressure, humidity and generally don't require major re-tuning. Beautiful car & I'm sure you will get it dialed in. Tuning for fuel economy & max performance takes a little more work, but can be easily done, especially since you're using an A/F sensor.

Beautiful car ! I have watched a few of your videos nice overall. Tune your main jets for best cruise, use your PVCR for wide open. Try a 6.5 power valve minimum. Use the T slot channel to trim your mid range and fuel economy.

Not sure if you've played with this, but the Ultra Xp carbs have an idle air bypass valve adjustment under the air cleaner stud. Keep at it ✌️

Do you have any guides for playing with the bleeds? I’ve got some on my brawler but I haven’t played around with them yet.

hi great video as always. Did you adjust the screw under the air cleaner stud. On that carb there is an adjustment screw in there that allows air to bypass the throttle blades thru the 4 holes located around it. That may help you with your idle.
