I could never get past level 2 as a child. The farthest I ever got was level 4. You would have think he'd have learned after the 8th time touching the bug zapper... I always loved the layout of Reality Bites' home. Simple but crammed with stuff to work towards.

my bff and i would play this all the time and we'd have sleep overs and would leave the game on over night to see what would happen lol. shit got wild. i woke up in bed with her and the extra roomate we put in got pissed about it cuz i guess a sort of love triangle happened? lots of slapping and crying when we woke up most times lol the other times i think we ran outta money or we didn't pay bills so a screen would pop up and pause the game. the love triangle one happened once though. oh theres lots of complaining of being hungry too. edit: we'd take turns playing story mode. highest we got was the one before the final one i think....we got stuck and said fug it and cheated to see the last house. maybe this was busting out and not OG sims. but we did play both, im prob just confusing one with the other LOL. i know we got to the scientist chemical plant house and got stuck there...last time we did this was 15+ years ago. i still have my ps2 and the save files though so i could just boot it up and see.

Mom stops lending you money if you have more than 1k simoleons, so i buy items to lower the amount, but because the game will pay you back if you improved a location, you get what you spend back anyway. then the money is used for funding the aromaster. thanks for the question.
