♦️ Sims 1 vs Sims 3 vs Sims 4 : Bonehilda - Mini Evolution

Hello. This one comparison was purely because people have kept requesting it ever since Bonehilda was rumored to make a comeback in Paranormal Stuff. Aaaand now that she's here I can see why people have missed her, she's quite an interesting NPC with much personality, even back in The Sims.
I knew this would be a short comparison and I haven't gotten enough time to play around with Sims 4 so let me know what other fun quirks you've found about her. I know she can swim in Sims 3 and 4 but it seems so...unimportant that I decided not to mention it, along with some other stuff.
Anyways, what are your thoughts on her?
My opinion?
Sims 1 is very solid, not only did they introduce her but they gave her lots of personality, I like how her clear alcoholism has been toned down with each version, I'm not a fan of the later entries neglecting her admiration for the Grim Reaper tho.
Sims 3 was alright, I like how the made her even more useful by fighting burglars, extinguishing fires, training dogs, etc. It's weird that she tries to interact with babies tho so I guess this is something they actually intended for her to do but in the end couldn't make it work, it's odd that they'd just left it there, because she'd spend HOURS trying to interact with the baby.
Sims 4 is continuing to have a bait in stuffpacks, this time it was Bonehilda aaaaaand I don't appreciate that. She's alright, does most of the things she is known for but is it just me or does she work way less?? In my game, she takes hours before getting to the real work and would rather be dancing than fixing things around, not sure if they meant to make her more lively or it's an error.
Either way, I find myself leaning more towards Sims 1 for quirks and Sims 3 for actual usefulness. Sims 4 is right in the middle of that so it's also the last in my book, but that's just my opinion, let me know yours and I'll see you on the next one. Take care.

The crazy thing is how easy it was for me to fix. 5 minutes in Sims4Studio, and I added a Scared moodlet (so they look afraid and run everywhere) to the "maid leaves when seeing bonehilda" interaction. SUPER easy, I dunno why Maxis didn't do it.

I have only one idiot sim at the moment , and she managed to break the computer and the sink immediately afterwards. Can’t imagine how much stuff will get broken with a full household but I guess I’ll find out soon as she has the Surrounded By Family Lifetime Wish. (I usually play with big families, but it’s been years since I played on the Xbox 360 version, and I recently got the Steam version.)

In The Sims 2, maids are all about business. They will clean and do just that. If the maid (such as Kaylynn Langerak) has a high relationship with a Sim on the lot, then that maid will stay for a while, allowing the Sim to do a little flirtatious behavior around her. In The Sims 3, maids are tasked to do their jobs, but you have to keep an eye out on the maid, because some maids will just slack off. It's in the Game Hints, I think. One time in The Sims 3, Gunther Goth got a phone call from the house maid, and apparently the maid wanted to go on a date with Gunther. I decided that Gunther will not enter an extramarital affair with the maid, and instead fired the maid. Besides, Cornelia Goth is a pretty neat Sim and will gain LifeTime Happiness points from cleaning the whole house. Bonehilda in The Sims 3 is also cool. You just buy a Bonehilda coffin (a fixed payment) instead of a recurring payment for a maid. It's just creepy to have a walking skeleton cleaning the house, that's all. I don't have Paranormal Stuff pack for The Sims 4. So, I can't comment on that.

I had sims come back from vacation and one room was full of dog hair on the floor which brought me to call the maid, I noticed of course the maid did everything but clean up that area for two in game weeks. I’m one of the people that actually enjoys Sims 4 (sometimes I’ll install those mods where people are just randomly killing eachother and stuff) but boy theres a long list of things that have to be added and improved

It was supposed to be an online game, then that was snatched away 2years +- before release and they had to made it into an actual sequel, hence so much lacking and the enormous gameplay focus on young adults. The community is on such a “Sims 4 bad” hate train that they refuse to acknowledge when Sims 4 does anything better and blindly love everything else about the previous games. Also, the entire comment section is about the small maid animation when they aren’t mentioning how Sims 4 has a more practical Bonehilda than Sims 1 and especially Sims 3 and has more personality than Sims 3 but not Sims 1. Sims 4 Bonehilda is better than the Sims 3 one in pretty much every way. If Sims 3 and 4 Bonehilda were swapped, people would still hate the Sims 4 one.

Suprena_two sims 3 has a lot of details, but there’s really no comparing it to sims 2 in that department. There were definitely corners cut (i.e no interactive kitchen cabinets in 3, sims teleport themselves into their car from standing instead of actually getting into the car like they can in 2, cars actually pulling out of the driveway in 2, hair physics were removed in 3, lots more too).

watching all these videos reminded me how much thought and care was put into every little detail of the sims 1. especially with animations. while they may have technically improved in later games, sims 1 captures the most character and expression I think. so many small details even just the way she exits her closet is such a great example. the way she peers out for a second before sneaking out and shaking herself off vs her just jumping out in ts3. its little touches like these that really make the game feel like a living world. I love it so much! need to replay

Bonehilda was the reason I played Sims 3 for so long. I loved her! I got the Supernatural expansion as soon as I got Sims 3 and seeing her beat up a burglar was enough to make me devote my life to her lol

Sims 4 Bonehilda is terrible. She never cleans anything, she just dances, occasionally cooks vegetarian food, and walks away from the lot. I also don't like that she can only be summoned with a +3 medium skill, you can't just buy her coffin. Why does the Sims 4 team take everything beloved from previous games, and ruin them.

@Hyperactiv Gamer Not exactly. They ran out of time and/or didn't want to create one more build/buy item, based on how she leaves the lot. They could've re-used the animation from ghosts jumping into and possessing items for when she leaves, but they didn't.
