Sims 2
In The Sims 2, Lemonade Stands were first added in the game with The Sims 2: Open for Business. Even though this lemonade stand can be used by adult Sims, it also enables children to make and sell lemonade and is one of the few ways child Sims can make money in the game.
Before making lemonade, you can set the price of one cup of lemonade. Every ingredient is present behind the stand. Sims will take the big mug from behind the counter, squeeze lemons from the bowl, add sugar, stir with a wooden spoon, then pour the lemonade in cups, making a mess. The stand also builds their cooking skill. Adult Sims will crouch when buying a lemonade. The seller will put their money in the piggy bank. After a while, the lemonade will spoil, so you'll need to clean it up and make another batch.
Sims 3
In The Sims 3, Lemonade Stands are a premium content available in the Sims 3 Store. Only children can tend to the stand. You need to first stock the stand with produce from their inventory to start. You can buy them at the supermarket, or grow them yourself. Unlike the Sims 2, in The Sims 3 you can make and sell all kinds of juices. After choosing an available flavor, the Sim will place the corresponding produce in a blender and squeeze the juice in a cup with ice. The customer will then put a coin in the jar and grab their drink. They will get a positive moodlet from drinking juice. You can't change the price of the beverages.
Sims can also get Psychiatric Help from the Child Tending the Lemonade Stand. The child will clean the stand with a sponge and while listening to the Sim in need. Then they will give them some kind of advice. The Sim will then gain a positive "Feeling Good About Me" moodlet that will last for 12h. Unfortunately, not a single Sim came to buy lemonade on their own.
Sims 4
The Sims 4 doesn't have a lemonade stand that's a separate object like in the previous Sims games. But you can definitely make something similar that I think it's worth mentioning.
If you have the tray of lemonade from Sims 4: Backyard Stuff and any of these sales tables you can sell lemonade. First, use the Summer Drink Tray, and mix and serve Iced Tea, or Lemonade. Now all you need to do is put the drinks in your inventory and stock any of the sales tables. Then just start the sale. In The Sims 4, this is a social event that lasts for a few hours
For these purposes I like using the food stand that came with The Sims 4: Home Chef Hustle. For various reasons. The vendor will stand in the middle of the table and will feel and look more enthusiastic, calling potential customers to come over. And because this one is a food related stand, Sims that buy lemonade will drink it right on the spot. Making it more interesting. A lot of Sims will come to buy lemonade. You can mark up the prices from 0% to 300% On the other sales tables, the Sim will stand near the table and won't do much. and on the other sales tables, Sims will buy lemonade and put it in their inventory.

​​@@adrianblake8876 The kids can sell virtually everything you can put in a selling table or food stall in 4. Even if the animations are more or less going to be the same you have a mountain of choice for what you sell. Also you can make it a sibling affair or a full blown family one.

​​​​@@Pollicina_dbthat's also true to life. I think 4 might edge 3 out for 2nd place here though because of how easy it is to run a lemonade stand in 4. On 3 you expressly need the store. In 4 the requirements come with packs you would probably want to own for other reasons so the option is just one of several benefits like getting it from a single pack in sims 2. And it's not like the possible interactions between 3 and 4 are any worse or better than each other. The realistic nature of 2 is the tipping point to victory here IMHO. It is the clearest replication of a child being a child while doing this rather than a young adult in a child's body.

Yeah, once again, Sims 2 nailed it, from the look of the stand to the animation. The look of the kid when people are passing by is priceless. I do like the stands from Sims 3 and the advices were kinda funny. And the Sims 4... the animation was nice, I'm not going to ignore that. I do feel it's way too clean for a lemonade stand (but the fact that the kid had to step on the little stool was a cute detail.) But God I hate how unnatural it feels with the Sims just standing there and drinking their lemonade in that clean cup!! Thanks for this video!

I think each one had good and bad points. As a Sims 2 player I like that the animations are detailed compared to sims 4 where jugs and things seem to teleport. I like that the kids sit, gain cooking and always have wants to buy and use the stand. But I really like how social the table was in sims 4, but its a shame it wasn't a dedicated kids table. Sims 3 looked good but nobody coming to buy is lame, but I like having to stock it, clean it, make it fresh and the range of juices. I don't like kids giving advise to adults. I am thinking sims 4 is also rather convoluted, would most players know they could even do this and know to use that table?

Sims 2 will always win for me, the best in the franchise for real game play. I do love the food stand in the sims 4, it is a game changer. My sims that live on a farm use it to sell their produce, goat milk, sheep fur, wine, fruit and vegetables, eggs, list is endless

Yeah, I like the aesthetic of the Sims 2 stand because it looks like the child actually put it together themselves, as well as them actually making the drinks on the spot. Buuut… the animation in Sims 4 for tending the stand is just so much better! If there was a stand specifically designed for the kids and not just the same one as the adults can use I’d like it more. Didn’t even know Sims 3 had one! 😂

In the sims 4, the moodlet for selling drinks or ice cream in warm weather will also appear if the Faraday Fizz or Liquid Rush Drinks from the Jungle Adventure pack are sold. This only happens if the table from home chef hustle is used.
