One time my sims had a roommate and he set a cooker on fire while preparing food and then left to "run errands" 😑 Fun quirk isn't it? What an arsonist.. Lol

The Sims 2 roomates surprisingly have some random features. My Sim had a great relationship with the roomate and then I've got a pop up saying something like "Yo, my friend work as a manager in your job. I'll ask him for a raise for you." After that I had some similar pop ups but nothing as major.

That is based on the reputation system in TS2 it's not necessarily a roommate perk. For example an old friend of my landlord who knows her told her to lower my rent And a random townie I tried to flirt with told me they'll get me a raise because we work in the same field

I had like 8 roomates in a big house in TS4, each had their room and it was a big house but one day they all moved out at the same time, my sim came home from work and the place was empty :( it was so sad

To clarify, in TS2 you can still ask to cook/ clean/ garden but it's not a roommate specific feature, you can influence everyone to do those things. However, since it's not tied to the roommate thing I understand that you didn't put it in the video.

Yes, and replenish their needs, which actually makes it extremely impossible for them to move out because of bad treatment, I actually had to use cheats to make it happen 🤫

I hope it's not mods doing this, but my TS4 roommates almost always complain about not having access to a shower/tub or a bed and every time it happens, they should be able to reach what they need, and then they always move out, so I'll just kick them out when they give me the notification about not being able to find something. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth about roommates, but I'll warm up to them again later inevitably. x.x It's almost like they can't function with more than one level in the house, but I'm not sure.

it's a common roommate bug. if you didn't see them putting their stuff on a desk/end table, then that's mean they are bugged and will eventually led to this. usually having a bigger room with a lot of surface help, usually.

In the Sims 2 I haven't played a lot with roommates and I like to turn ageing off sometimes, but I still have no idea if roommates age every day along with the family living there. A roommate did seem to age one day like everyone else when I turned ageing on, but not sure if this really ages the NPC sim or not. Anyone who still plays TS2 know?

That's a good question actually, I didn't test it out, all I know is that they can actually die of sickeness from roaches!

I come back to Sims 2 few weeks ago and from my point of view is much more enjoyable than Sims 4. Especially when I added progression mod to my game ☺️

You did forget that you can ask your roommate to babysit in Sims 2. They also can influence roommates (to cook, clean, bathe, etc.), like any other sim. Is that just something Sims 4 sims can ask only their roommates or can they also ask any sims on their lots? Oh, and that teleportation is a feature in Sims 2, not a bug. This is the same when there are multiple cars blocking, the approaching car will stop, but if the other cars do not move, they will teleport. Sims 3 cars go through each other and Sims 4 cars are just set dressing illusions. While I think it is great to have the ability for multiple roommates, I prefer only having one (but can have more with mods), and also Sims 2 can have a roommate in a house (I think you just need to have an apartment or dorm door for their room, I forget which one). I think in houses, you can also have multiple roommates that way, but uncertain if that works without mods.
