Kevin! I know a way to decrease bills! You click on a light, and then click "autolights…." Then "all rooms". Then the lights only turn on when a sim is in the room, therefore decreasing the bills, since they aren't always on anymore.

You should make jim a ghost (playful type), master the mixology stuff, invite everyone to a dinnerparty, serve everyone happy potion (it's cheaper if you get someone to order it for everyone; jim tending the bar, turg orders for everyone). everytime, someone dies half the time. Throw in a crowd-pleasing story for a bit extra. Keep everyone around jim and serve drinks every 3-4 game hours until you've enough stones for your yard. Jim will be a playful ghost and others will laugh in his presence. Happy potion ensures that their emotions will be most extreme.
