The modding scene for the Sims is pretty huge, it's just not on Nexus for the most part, and there's more emphasis on storytelling gameplay than big dramatic funny mods. I'd love to see a video like this for the Sims 3!

@@animatedzack2013 actually, the Sims community has a term for those! We call it CC, and although CC is technically a type of mod, we think of them as different things entirely. Sims modding sites have separate categories for CC and mods. That's one of the big reasons Nexus is a terrible place to source your Sims mods, it's just not set up for the way the Sims modding community works. It's also very silly to use a mod manager for your Sims mods when it's literally faster and easier to do them manually.

@@anyoneatall3488 I don't have much in the way of details since I've been playing Sims 3 vanilla lately (trying to get used to all the packs because I only ever had the base game until recently) but by a quick look at modthesims it seems active enough to keep someone busy. Someone uploaded a 4k UI scaling mod just today, haha. Modding the Sims 3 will always be fun though even if new mods completely dry up because there's just so many that have been uploaded since the game stopped receiving updates. The great thing about abandonware is that the mods will never lose compatibility.

There's actually a ton of mods, they're just usually not on big modding sites, and are instead on Sims-focused mod sites or on people's personal pages/sites/blogs. To add on to that, the ones on the Sims-focused sites are mostly CAS (Create a Sim) or Build Mode items; for gameplay mods, you usually have to do more digging/know where to look to find them or honestly just watch mod reviews and/or google mods based on themes/expansion packs. A lot of times you end up on a blog or personal website linking to a file hosting service (there's a Sims-focused one of those btw too) or occasionally a modder's page on a site that starts w/ Pat and ends in eon. Tumblr used to be a decent resource too (though it's more CAS/Build focused usually), but last time I looked I unfortunately ended up with some dead links. Oooh, a Meme House reboot? Fun! The Meme House U.K is a strong, albeit quite unique, adaptation from the original 1973 Swedish sitcom. Taking a bold new approach to classic characters while introducing new ones. The absence of fan favorites such as Johnny Zest may be off putting to classic fans, but don't let that deter you checking out and enjoying this version. The decision to change the actor for Sponge Bob may leave a bad first impression, but as he takes on the roll left absent by Bonzi Buddy declining to return for this adaptation he really comes into his own and makes the character shine.

TS4 is so boring in that there are no negative consequences. You leave your sims alone for 10 minutes in TS2 with free will and they will cheat on their partner, make an enemy, burn down half the house, lose their job, and then drown in the pool. And TS1? Oh they wouldn't stand a chance no. TS1 game was *hard* to even keep them alive when you were trying. But in TS4 they just kinda... stand there with that stupid creepy smile and live on

I know others have said this and im late to the video, but the sims 4 scene does actually have a big modding community. The thing is you normally will find mods on people's personal blogs. And there's also less "fun" mods. Sure there are some, more than just what was in the video, but the community for this game vs for 2 or 3 is more focused on more in depth gameplay additions (because let's be real, without mods you run out of things to do very quickly.) The other games had better substance to them, so their mods tended to focus more on being wacky and doing crazy things.

In defense of Snowy Escape, it looks like you were on the first level still, possibly even the practice wall, I don't think sims can die on either of those walls. Going up the mountain raises the difficulty (so they fall off more and from higher up) and also raises the chance of death signed, a long time Sims player who also thinks Snowy Escape isn't worth $40
