Uh, no. The real Fallouts have enemies of all manner of difficulty on the table from the get-go, often appearing randomly on your way to places. Everyone who has played real Fallout recalls their first time meeting a large group of radscorpions on the road and learning the hard way that these monsters are not going to go down easily. In theory, you can run to the base where the Super Mutants are being created right off the bat (it is within a couple of days march of the starting point), but you need to be incredibly skilled and lucky to have any chance of success. Having the difficulty change to suit your character when you go to places that are supposed to be challenging takes away the need to consider what effect the area is meant to have on the campaign, and in so doing makes everything feel pretty soft.

Few weeks back there was an announcement that some fans are making a fan recreation of Fallout 1 in the Fallout 4 Creation Engine. I just started 4 again while late in NV and I disliked that quest. I don't enjoy feeling like a god that early or having my hand held so much. It made deathclaws seem weak. It didn't feel satisfying. I'll have to try the mod that fixes it.

All very true, but the power armor isn't very user friendly in the beginning, as you need fusion cores for it, neither is the minigun, because you can hit many explosive cars nearby and the ammo is hard to find. I found it difficult to uphold the use of power armor in the beginning, so i picked my fights with more care. I don't think it ruined the gameplay, but I get your point.

I have an xbox, a Playstation, but personally, I prefer console over PC. And I don't entirely trust PC players because they can hack the game easier.

Watching this all the way in 2024 bc I got into NV after the show (SEASON 2 IS GOIING TO BE SO HYPE) Anyway I'm surprised by your methods here (Not hating). I always do anti-legion and anit-powder ganger runs and NEVER have a shortage of throwing weapons. Specifically once you murder enough legionaries they Caser will start sending parties after you. After that the throwing weapons basically come to you. Also If you take the time to clear out the NCR correctional facility and surrounding camps, you'll leave with more throwable explosives than you can carry.... literally

Automatic pipe guns have their use case alongside the 10mm pistol. You can get pretty far with an automatic pipe gun if you spec into Commando

Playing a modded survival run at the moment, and I've been having a blast with VATS Enhanced pipe revolver with a suppressor, still at level lvl33 :D never used this gun before really

Bethesda have gotta remove essential/unkillable npcs for their later games. Being able to just kill anyone you want and potentially fail a quest is way better than not being able to kill any npc linked to a quest at all

Those of us old heads who love this series really appreciate the open ended exploration of the clunky inception to this series. I look forward to you maybe trying fallout 2, tactics, and brotherhood of steel. 2 is definitely the most enjoyable all around, but tactics was my favorite
