Sims FreePlay - Let's Build an HGTV House (Live Build Tutorial)

Here's a little building challenge for you. I call it the "Frugal Housebuilding Challenge" Rules: Make it an oceanview plot. Cannot have any furniture that came in any special event, costs SPs, unlocks at a high level, or costs more than 10 LPs. No patios. No balconies. No pools. One story only No basements The whole house has to cost less than 100,000 simoleons and 34 LPs. No glitches. The house should be designated for a family (2 adults and 1 preteen girl) That's it. Have fun doing it :)

Love the live build tutorial. I'm a huge HGTV fan, especially for "House Hunters" and" Love It or List It". Spouse and I get a big kick out the newbie house hunters wanting SS appliances, pool, all the major upgrades, etc., in their 1st house on a smaller budget. The 1st house we bought was a small 3-bedroom, 1-bath ranch of about 1000 sq ft. We bought it and moved shortly after I graduated from college and would have a "real" job. Spouse had graduated the year before and already had a real job. Plus we had a 4 year old daughter, so we thought the place was a palace! Having a large suburban lot to have a swing set and sandbox for our daughter was a plus. In addition, we were just adjacent to a town park where our daughter spent a lot of time with her friends, playing on the playground there. Since then, our houses have been significantly larger and in various settings. But now, as we get older, I'm ready to go back to a smaller ranch with a 1st floor laundry room. For 20+ years, I have collected house plans of one-story homes. I've even had to get rid of many older collected house plan books, as my collection was getting out of hand. I wonder if I was an architect in a past life, ancient Egypt maybe?!? ;-) Love your videos. Always a pleasure to watch your Sims videos. Keep up the great work!

I always wished for a two-story house when I was a kid because the novelty of stairs in other people's houses was so fun. My parents finally moved into a two-story house when I was in college and already halfway out of the nest. Although my inner child was a little bitter about the timing :D I realized then that the "fun" of a bigger house is balanced by the hassle of taking care of it. The house we just bought is closer to the size of your 1st house and met most of our criteria, but even so, I could happily go smaller to have a few more hours each month NOT dedicated to cleaning, repairing, etc! :D

This all makes me sooo jealous because i am trying to make a master piece of a house and then it turns out similar to the house i just made.
