Its pretty cool to see how windows 2000 evolved into windows xp with somewhat subtle changes each transition :) having used both of them before, its pretty neat seeing how it changed so drastically in just 2 years.

Windows XP: NT 5.1 The current codename for Windows is Vienna/7/Se7en (one of which is the official name for the latest release) The current XP build is 2603/whistler-nt.

From Windows 1.0 to Windows ME are MS-DOS based systems. From Windows NT 3.1 and newer are NT based systems. Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2012 are Server based systems.

MS should've stopped development at Build 2410, because this was the part that it was still based on the reliable base of Windows 2000, instead of the completely rebuilt and unstable XP base.

+Ezpezy Seriously? Windows XP is the most stable Windows I have ever used. (I never got a BSOD on that one and on 7 Explorer kept freezing for some time while loading and 8 kept BSODing every half an hour and I think those BSODs on 8 were intentional.)

Neptune was not XP. Look at the NT Version it was meant to be as a complete new OS and the Server Version of Neptune was Odyssey i saw Odyssey once but unfortunately i don't have the build.
