Simulate a triangular distribution

If you're trying to approximate the triangular distribution with a single function existing in Excel, you may consider working with the Beta distribution. It is much more elegant, and it's reasonably close.

I believe I found a small mistake with your equation for the outcome (Column D). The first part is right: IF(C9=0, SQRT((pb-pa)*(pc-pa)*B9),...) but the second half for if C9 =1 should be: pb-SQRT((pb-pa)*(pb-pc)*(1-B9))

firstly, i noticed part of formula in column no. D is incorrect i.e. pb - sqrt((pb-pa)*(pc-pa)*(1-B9)). It should be pb - sqrt((pb-pa)*(pb-pc)*(1-B9)) {that is why your histogram were more close to triangle nature
