1:26 usually if a word ends in S the S is silent. E's at the end are also silent unless they have an accent. French is full of letters that are silent when spoken but important when writing. é, er, ez, ais, ait, ai etc all make an "ay" sound but sound the same. Verbs are the worst. France is probably the only non north American country I know most of the regions of because I took French Immersion, and thus I had to present a project on Côte D'azure so that's who I'm rooting for!
