It is just easy enough to learn, yet not as boring as an e175, difficult enough to keep you engaged but not overkill like MD-88, and has enough checklist items balanced throughout the flight to be fun and not most items during preflight like the 737 and it's a little quirky too. Once you start to realize you might be getting bored, you're already starting the descent to your destination airport because all it does is short hops. An all around fun plane to fly!

It has come to my weirdest attention that after me feeling really down after a series of unfortunate events, I decided to learn to fly a new plane for flight sim. I chose the Dash-8 because I'm a short-hopper and that this would be my first study-level aircraft to put my mind off things. THEN a few days later, I tried exceeding the flight envelope of this plane just for fun and then once I got tired of randomly stressing the A/C, I decided to rest and then YT recommended me a VAS Aviation video about the SEATAC incident last year... Lesson: Get a Q400 when your feeling really bad. It's a fun "sporty" plane you can fling into the air. Disclaimer: Only use software Q400s. DO NOT TRESPASS INTO A REAL AIRPORT AND GRAB ONE FOR YOURSELF. I will not be held accountable for anymore missing Q400s ending up in fireballs.

Wow, this plane is super hands on! And I thought that the Leonardo Maddog X MD-80 was a handful. It seems like there’s always another button to push. It’s not like an A320 where most of the tedious things are done for you by the plane. I really respect the pilots who fly these things for real.

@@spookygh0st234 it's replicating real world yaw with the crash eight. Both props turn the same direction rather than counter, so it causes yaw at take off and climb. You might need to feed more right rudder (6-7 clicks) to counter yaw plus cross wind.

@axelsubo126
@axelsubo126 2 жыл бұрын
Found the answer! Took a scroll through the sample delivery flight PDF offered by Majestic and stumbled upon it by accident. Direct quote: "To address the “ICE DETECTED” caution, place the INCR REF speeds switch to “INCR.” The ICE DETECTED will change from yellow to white, and stop blinking. What the switch does is raises the low speed cue (red-tape) about 20 kts, as well as the stall warning threshold to compensate for the detrimental effect ice has on an airframe. This is why we always increase our Vfri and Vcl speeds by 20kts, as well as Vref/Vga speeds on landing to account for this change."

The Control Panel App gets installed with the aircraft. There should be an entry in your Windows start menu under "Majestic Software".

Hi! Great tutorial really helping me convert from my PMDG Boeings to new systems. I have a question. Your FMS screens are clear to read,. mine are awful and blocky. Any ideas? Forum post on Avsim below: www.avsim.com/forums/topic/647787-poor-text-output-on-q400-fms/ Regards!

I'm glad you like the video, thanks! Regarding the text, sorry but I can't help you there, I left FSX behind many years ago and solely fly in MSFS 2020.

Late to the party... but, while autofeather is armed for takeoff, it is not armed for landing.
