It's an odd favorite to have. I'm not saying it's a bad song, but it must have personal meaning for you that I don't get. That's the beauty of music, though. You're finding/creating beauty where I can't necessarily also do it. I like the song, but I find others more compelling.

@@igortakesabride1139 yes, it does have a personal meaning, you are correct. My second favorite is Jealous. For me, Hold back the night was a stand out track on the album the first time I listened to it.

@@igortakesabride1139 I don't think it's that odd, other than it's a "deep cut" in a catalogue full of great songs. I agree w/ op: it was one of the standouts from its album. Also: I honestly think this song is the equivalent of "Nothing Compares 2 u" in many ways: a power-pop ballad with Sinead's voice at peak beauty on the original recording. The only difference is that "nothing.." is obviously more catchy. In a better world, "Hold.." would've seen more visibility in the world.
