Leviticus is a perfect example of God treating sins differently. God required a specific sacrifice for different transgressions. If he didn't, he would have accepted one kind of animal for all. Thank you Bro Don!

I was just recently discussing this with a fellow Christian. Thank you so much for making this video and helping me to confirm what I already thought to be true. ❤

I wonder where teaching people something is sinful when the Bible doesn't teach it is sinful falls on the sin scale?

It is no sin.

We know the smallest sin is equal to first degree Murder if the sinner is not washed by the blood of Christ. True, telling your spouse: “That dress doesn’t make you look fat” (When you don’t believe it) is not the same as Murder. The real question is: “What are the spiritual consequences in Heaven?” Are my treasures in Heaven based on the degree of my Sins vs acts of righteousness? Nobody wants to preach about this outcome.

Matthew 16:27 "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works." I think that's quite clear.

The works are acts of faith versus works of the Devil NOT the amount of works of each individual saint. There is but ONE REWARD FOR BEING FAITHFUL UNITL DEATH, eternal life. You won't get a Mercedes and another saint gets a bicycle because you did more "works" in your flesh. @@LanceAdamsZA

@@dsvet Do you mean that the Church that Jesus instituted, that Jesus gave Authority to, the Church that Jesus promised and sent the Holy Spirit to protect, the Church that gave us the Bible - that Church is broken? In what way?

@@dsvetHow do? And what happened to the Church that Jesus started? Did Jesus not protect it from error? Where is it?
@dsvet8 ай бұрын
@@PatrickSteil it is made up of those who have obeyed the gospel of Christ. Those believers who have repented, confessed Christ's deity with their mouths and have been immersed in water for remission of sins. His church exists today and you can become part of it. It's a wonderful thing. The man in this video is a member of the church of Christ and you can be as well.

Ok, this is why some people believe we (the church of Christ) is a cult. When Jesus was referring to "greater" sin, He wasn't relaying that sin is judged in a hierarchy. He was stating it as it relates to IMPACT. In other words, there are some sins that will impact more people or more things, for example. He also said that the least in the Kingdom of GOD is greater than John the Baptist. Was he saying that John is saved at a level that is different that those in the Kingdom? No. He was simply expressing the supremacy of being in the Kingdom versus not being in the kingdom. All the prophets have ended up in the Kingdom ( the church), even John the Baptist, because the Kingdom is the culmination of Gods eternal plan for all who came before and after Christs passion. ALL SIN IS THE SAME IN THE EYES OF GOD, however all sins dont have the same worldly consequences. They all have the same spiritual consequences, in that they separate us from God. Be careful Saints to scrutinize all members of the church by harmonizing it or them with the Scriptures. Im sure you're well meaning my brother, however this is false doctrine.

I am struggling to see the part of the video that leads to the conclusion that the church is a cult. I think if you take time to watch to the end, you will realize that he did not only say there are levels of sin but indicated that the impact of some particular sinful acts are much greater than others. He also stated be it great sin or just sin both if not repented can lead a person to be lost. So basically, it is the same thing Bro. Don is saying, just as there seem to be varying levels of punishment.

2Pe 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 2Pe 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. It is clear here that someone who believes and obeys the gospel and then turnes away, their punishment will be worse than if they never knew the way of righteousness. There are indeed different levels of punishment for different sins both physically and spiritually.

I was being facetious. The One and ONLY church isnt a cult. I was merely stating that by not teaching sound doctrine that doesnt harmonize with scripture often leads people to call us that. I'm a member of the church and I was commenting on your well intended answer to that persons question, however it isnt true. All sin is the same in the eyes of God and I laid out my explanation as to why that is so..@@michael_Kas

There are no LEVELS to sin, and I did watch the entire video. There is only the affects or impact of certain sins, however that doesnt mean that one sin is "greater" than the other.@@michael_Kas
@Autofill196710 ай бұрын
That Scripture doesnt say that. Dont you know that the Bible sometimes uses hyperbole? One example will suffice: David said "I was a sinner from the womb" however we know one has to commit a sinner to become a sinner. What he, and appears you are teaching is some variant of an unpardonable sin. The text is simply saying that for one to know the Truth then turn from it ( such as the example of the Sower of the Seed), it would be next to impossible to return and I found that true with the brethren I once knew who turned from the teachings of the CoC. Just as in the story of the prodigal son. One can return however where can one turn if they turn away from the ONLY truth there is? @@dsvet
