The original drummer Ian Paice was so impressed, he made a reaction video and invited her to a collaboration, and Terry Williams, Dire Straits drummer, was so impressed by her Sultans Of Swing cover he commented twice and sent it to Mark Knopfler, but J the Man is not impressed. Don`t think i need to waste more time here, OMG😂

That's funny, Ian Paice, Deep purples drummer had no such problems with her technique. Nor have any drum teachers I've seen react to her. In fact they rate her very highly. She plays harder songs than this one, especially the Toto stuff.

Looks like you broke into a hornets nest when you started dissing Sina. To be fair Sina doesn't consider herself a great drummer. She is a great student of drumming and drummers and plays well enough to be the most viewed drummer (by more than 150M views) on KZbin over the past 4 years. She uses her platform to introduce and support dozens, if not hundreds of young unknown artists and has led to some getting record deals and many developing successful KZbin channels. As you many have guessed, her fans are very loyal. As I post this you have about 23 hundred views on this video. On a new post Sina gets that in less than 5 minutes and has 25K to 50k views in the first 24 hours, sometimes far more. Heck, Sultans of Swing was posted 5 years ago and has been getting 100K views a day for the past week. So she's doing something right, you think?

People adopt technique that works for them. Many years ago they used to force left handed people to write with their right hand because they said it was the correct way. Well we all know how that ends. If you can achieve the result you're after then technique is irrelevant. Ringo Star is a prime example.

I didn't know if you knew that Sina's father is a professional musician, and he agreed to allow Sina to take drum lessons at a very early age and continue the lesson for many years. After she graduated from the high school in Germany, she chose to go to an elite drum school. I believe it was a year-long nothing but drumming school. Since then, she had been going to a school for Music and plans on attending a top music school in England. She has played with Rock the opera and even played with other musicians like Donovan. Deep Purples drummer, Ian Paice who created the drum track watched her play this cover and she might have missed a few things throughout the song but Ian said that she was fantastic and that he could have never played the song as good as she did when he was her age and the fact that she would put out new videos at that time each week. She would learn each song in a week. She's a great drummer with all of the diplomas. Anyone can sit back and find flaws with anyone else especially if they haven't achieved the success that someone else has.

So J. Man, you don't like how she holds the sticks. In that case just listen to her, lots of power and plenty of chops!!! Ian Paice when he reviewed this video wasn't aghast at her grip and commented favourably on her power. And you will never hear the humble Sina ever ever say she's the best. Read her 'About' on her channel. She's constantly taking advice and lessons from her Dad's musician friends and the Music School she's presently attending. The pinky really doesn't detract from what one can hear in her play. Glad to see you're giving her some exposure. Catch her in Milan and throughout the Netherlands and Germany in 2022.

Trip222 criticised Sina as being a one stroker and said that she was just another unremarkable KZbinr because of it. Still, he hasn't yet met my challenge to let us Sina fans review and laud or critique his post, when he was a teen, of 'Burn' and show us Ian Paice's review of same. But that's not what prompted me to write just now. Because the 60th anniversary of my favourite Rock band's first live concert just passed, July 12th, so I've been binging on Keef and Mick, and of course Charlie. Well, talk about one strokers. Just enjoyed a 1997 live performance of 'Miss You' , and lo-and-behold, Mr. Watts, when he wasn't on the high hat, one stroked the entire 9 minutes 21 seconds. So sad Charlie fell short of your standards there Trip to the Loo!!!!!!

Hi 2. If you've gone through Sina's KZbin channel's catalogue, that's exactly what she's done in her own way. One small example, the rockers from Romania. Sina has worked with them and 'I Hate Myself' with Rockmina (the Mediterranean's Janis Joplin) and Andrea Cerbu's (stupendous guitarist who sought out Sina to collaborate) Voodoo Child band are phenomenal. And that's just one example as American, Canadian, Dutch, Ukrainian, German, Irish, Japanese, Taiwanese, Australian, Czech, British, Belgian, French and Russian + artists have all been collaborators with Sina. There's about 300+ posts on Sina Drums KZbin of many genres of music. One of my favourite pieces is called 'Hey', and was written, choreographed and performed with about 2 dozen of her classmates in the arts school she attends in Arnhem Netherlands. It's bouncy, humorous and just plain superb entertainment.

Ah-huh. Where do I start?🙄 First off, relatively speaking, she's still young and may change her style. Don't get me wrong, I am by no means taking your position on this issue. Just stating a fact. And you critiquing her is like Bach critiquing Beethoven, let's not go there, shall we? Secondly, Jimi Hendrix was left-handed and played a right-handed guitar. He will live in infamy as, arguably, the greatest R&R guitarist of all time (so far....). I don't think those who still love the music he created more than a half century ago have suffered for it. Thirdly, when I sit down to a meal and someone across the table holds their fork like a garden implement (tight fisted and upside-down instead of between the middle and forefinger and pressed against the thumb, somewhat the same way one might hold chopsticks) and quickly shovels it into their piehole as if they don't it might crawl away, I don't feel compelled to say something. I just chalk it off more as a British thing than European. (Btw, if memory serves well, Buddy Rich held his sticks that way.) But I digress. If they go a step further and loudly chew their food with their mouth open, I'll still keep my mouth shut. Why? Because I was raised better. Someone who I loved dearly (my grandfather, in fact, who I still hold dear to my heart) and consequently chewed with his mouth open, ironically shared this little tidbit with me that I will now share with you...... It's a wise man who knows when to keep his mouth shut, it's a fool that doesn't.

@dennisrankin3252 жыл бұрын
Think he's had enough practice time yet P R? You P R, may be well aware of this bio material, but unlikely J man and Trip222 are. Sina's norm is to work at the practising from Monday to Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday is the final recording, mixing and fine tuning with Dad, then early evening Friday up goes the new post, (11:00 a.m. EST or EDT). Too, in between times, she would be looking for music that turns her cranks and that she might find without a drum track or copyright restrictions. Saturdays and Sundays, at the time of Burn, would be spent chilling, but a couple of years later she could well be found out playing live. Once her band, the Gas, opened for Manfred Mann. Following week, same schedule with her next conquest. She seldom revisits what she has posted. And keep in mind too, many posts are not covers, but collaborations with other talented musicians, from the US, Japan, Canada, UK, Taiwan, Australia, Moscow and Europe.. Now that Sina is in Art School, her posts have fallen off to every second Friday, with the odd surprise now and then. She's a marvellous example for, and now mentor to, drummers everywhere. So, if J man here is up for it, that's how he might emulate this young Lassie's work ethic and show us what he's got eh P R!

A clean T-shirt WITHOUT HAIR would be a start. It looks like you're watching this video during your lunch break as a gas water shit installer Let's not even mention the fact that Sina would play you against the wall with her little fingers. She's alright but single strokes get a little boring. She also tends to drag just a little at times. I hate to be so critical of any musician but there's just so many good, very good musicians out there it's hard not to be critical. I personally am to old to "compete" but still enjoy playing and for any musician that's what's important on a personal level. I'm surprised not to see Anika Nilles before this video lol.
@j.manthemusician33352 жыл бұрын
she's a solid drummer, but she is not something special, and Anika is coming. I personally like the single stroke, but i also like to be doing a single stroke roll, and double time it with the double stroke. I am of course referring to a slower tempo, I love the sound of a double stroke roll when it's done like that. I also enjoy the double stroke on the foot work, (Heel toe) I love how smoot it can be, of course, I'd prefer it with triggers depending on what I'm doing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHmnm3qqn5ZrjpI when you have 10 minutes to spare check this kid out! Hey Tripper, were you invited to play on a blues album with Donovan? This one stroker was and did. Hmmm, maybe Donovan has some percussion l'arnin' to do eh? So if the music calls for one stroke, why should she F it up. And as a humble, empathetic, sharing musician, besides being a superlative percussionist, I'd say easily in the top 4 or 5 percentile on the world stage, I really wonder why you would dismiss her as just another KZbinr. Either your standards are way too high or you need to do some research. And if that doesn't work, then listen to this very nearly perfect performance of hers. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqTVmmd3p6aNjc0
