"Sometimes great people get passed over." Sinbad is one of the all-time greats. MY FAVORITE hands down.
@MzFine16 жыл бұрын
Sinbad is so passionate about black people. He didn’t tear anyone down but yet demonstrated an understanding of their gripes. I have always smiled when he is present because he is so genuine and transparent. Breakfast club if you read this you mentioned a lot about Old school comedians like Pryor n Cosby. Do you all remember Flip Wilson? I just remember him when I was a child being a funny black man on tv. No one ever talks about him.
@marcbeausejour15046 жыл бұрын
MzFine 1 Flip Wilson was a funny cat. I would watch segments of his show. He was hilarious when he would come out as Geraldine lol. But what I loved was that he usesd his show to put other black acts on primetime.
@MzFine16 жыл бұрын
Marc Beausejour you're right with his act of kindness. Now that I'm older and life is as it is today it makes me wonder why they had his main character as a woman? I wonder if he was gay in real life and because of that era his stardom became stagnant for that reason. My parents were so old fashioned my mother didn't watch it but my dad used to crack up and I would sneak and watch from the adjacent room. He was really funny though. I know he's one of many that probably these shows like TBC, TVone, and others don't talk about, but I think he was also as you said a big help to other black up and coming stars. He's due some repeck! LOL
@marcbeausejour15046 жыл бұрын
MzFine 1 yup. I don't know if he was gay tbh. But he did help people on the come up, such as Richard Pryor, the Jackson 5. When Redd Foxx was trying to get his own TV show, people were afraid to come near him, b/c his comedy routines were considered dirty back then. Flip Wilson gave Redd Foxx the exposure he needed on his show so that he could star on "Sanford and Son".
@MzFine16 жыл бұрын
Marc Beausejour "Wow"! You got me more intrigued, I need to research his resume'. I wonder if he had any dealings with Bill Cosby's success? Do you know?
@marcbeausejour15046 жыл бұрын
MzFine 1 I'm not sure. I found that bit about Redd Foxx watching his "Unsung" episode. I'm sure Bill Cosby was instrumental to his success as well.

I met Sinbad in Vegas about 20 years ago and he was cool as hell!! He didn't act all shady like a big celebrity, he was just a regular nice guy!! Class personified by not trashing other comics.
@dreamingonmelrosestreet13626 жыл бұрын
Yeah this trashing other comics is a new thing. I think it all started with comics getting jealous of Keven Hart. Never used to be like this.
