Marc Beausejour you're right with his act of kindness. Now that I'm older and life is as it is today it makes me wonder why they had his main character as a woman? I wonder if he was gay in real life and because of that era his stardom became stagnant for that reason. My parents were so old fashioned my mother didn't watch it but my dad used to crack up and I would sneak and watch from the adjacent room. He was really funny though. I know he's one of many that probably these shows like TBC, TVone, and others don't talk about, but I think he was also as you said a big help to other black up and coming stars. When Redd Foxx was trying to get his own TV show, people were afraid to come near him, b/c his comedy routines were considered dirty back then. Flip Wilson gave Redd Foxx the exposure he needed on his show so that he could star on "Sanford and Son".
