As someone who also has to deal with silly things in a different industry, things like this can be frustrating and a waste of not only your time but also the companies money. BUT, if they're willing to pay it makes for a fairly easy call!
@ciladan52733 жыл бұрын
@@LethalBacon479 I'm also in a different industry - for us, definitely not an "easy service call". You need to keep testing, keep troubleshooting, until you find the problem or run out of time, then try to explain to the customer that you can't find anything wrong, and they should call back if the problem happens again. Unfortunately, that often means they call someone else since you didn't fix it last time.
@LethalBacon4793 жыл бұрын
Depends on your point of view I guess. Pretty clear that they leave the door open with a bungee cord on it. Everything else checks out so Occams Razor wins the day. Better than chasing an electrical ghost you know is there and can't find! Hello i'm new to refrigeration. I was looking at the pressures at the end of the vid and need answers to why those pressures are normal, I was taught that condensing temp should be between 90-100F, and subcooling around 10F. Also comp superheat to be around 20-30F, also the Evap td to be 10-15F. Can a pro vet answer my burning questions? thanks.
@benkeysor75763 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert by any means nor have much experience but all I can say is study PT charts for the refrigerants you commonly use or come across often and your SH & SC are going to vary from system to system. SH & SC are also going to be different between air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Also what you learned in school is going to be different from what you encounter in the field and every manufacturer is going to want you to do things differently. When I was in school we were taught to mainly pay attention to pressures and to get our SH & SC both to 15 degrees on both AC & refrigeration but there's no way you can do that on real in-service equipment.
@joehead12943 жыл бұрын

Hi, I noticed that the evaporator TD was showing as 20 deg.F . It was mentioned that it could be a selection mismatch causing this. The evaporator TD (difference between evaporator temp and room temp) for a freezer should be no more than 10 deg.F (9 deg.F being ideal and a minimum of 8 deg.F to drive heat transfer). Having a wide TD on a freezer ( selecting an undersized evaporator compared to the condensing unit) will cause excessive frost. I wonder if that could also be part of the problem here? For freezers, evaporators selected should be larger in capacity than the condensing unit to ensure that the TD is less than 10 deg.F.
