This is why, IMO, the 80’s were the best years for music. I was a metal head and still knew every word to this song. We seemed to listen to way more genres than people get stuck in today. 80’s pop = 💎

WOW! I was about to graduate from high school when you were born, but radio blew THIS up that summer, along with Purple Rain album by Prince, and Madonna's Borderline and Lucky Star songs, Billy Ocean's "Caribbean Queen" plus I was listening to Quiet Riot, Van Halen's 1984 album, Run DMC Profile album, The Police, all genres. And of course MTV, Friday Night Videos, and TBS Night Tracks kept the party going all night long with videos 24/7. Great time to be a young person. Why so many 50-somethings are STILL the coolest people. We carried the 70s, 80s, the 90s and early 2000s with everything from Rock to Rap to Metal to Jazz to Salsa to House to EDM to Country, and Hip-Hop has been blended in all of those genres in the last 40 years."Walk This Way" Aerosmith and Run DMC was 1985.
