I always recommend Calli for the new players because her mechanics are the easiest to understand and utilize to their maximum effect.

Either her or Ame are really easy to understand for beginners imo. Kiara is as well, outside of her ult's weird revive mechanic.

I would recommend Kiara or Gura. Both have built in healing in addition to built in defensive abilities to mitigate new player mistakes. Their Specials are also not essential to have. Their skills require no understanding to use besides moving. Ame is all damage with a very narrow main weapon that starts with very poor swarm clear. Her Special is a large portion of her damage while also being her only defensive ability. Ina is tricky to play due to her main weapon having an awkward, lingering hitbox, and low rate of attack. She also needs to maintain close proximity to enemies to maximize her 4th WAH skill. Ghost Takos are unreliable for healing. Her Special isn't essential. Calli has a nice wide sweeping main weapon like Kiara, but her skills are all offense. Death helps with swarm clear, which helps fuel Workaholic. However, losing Workaholic can put a new player in a bad situation. Her Special is very strong but requires building for to effectively use. Calli isn't a bad choice for new players, but she isn't as new player friendly as Kiara or Gura.

@@tadferd4340 Gura is strong early on, but the way her kit actually works, primarily the Shark Bite skill, aren't really the most intuitive to understand for a lot of newer players, causing them to either ignore or undervalue it. A lot of beginners can also end up sleeping on her dodge skill as well, which then combines with the above to seriously hurt Gura's survivability when she should be an adorable little tank lol. I dunno, I just feel like Ame works well as a simple, easy to understand ranged character. Out of all the ranged characters, she's probably the simplest to understand overall. Mumei definitely takes the simplicity cake once her weapon hits lvl 7, but given how many new players I've seen drop the Owl of Doom because they didn't bother maxing out the feather..... -_- Of course, Calli and Kiara are still my go-to recommendations for beginner melee characters, but I do like Ame's place as the free ranged option for players to have access to.

Yeah, Calli is the ideal beginner pick. Mooms is definitely a rough second pick after that, but she does work very well if you sprint to max her feather attack. Lots of potential, but significantly less intuitive than "kill stuff with giant scythe"!

This has been some of the most confusing 3 and 1/2 hours of my life. Not because of the game (I love this game), but because of Sinder's constant decision to walk towards danger instead of the open and available path. Also having the dream Irys start (minus the pekora stamp) and then prioritizing more weapons over her crazy passives, but this is her first time so it's unfair of me to expect her to connect those dots just yet lol

Yeah I think it may be because she is new and maybe not used to this type of genre. Defense can work early on but I agree if you can't kill anything it doesn't help. I also noticed her just forgetting specials or not using lower levels to get higher consistent cash for more upgrades.

@@RoyalFusilier Yeah its not the worst, I have seen way worse, but I think its always a problem seeing a game you know really well and then watching someone new at it and just going "I've pinpointed every single mistake you have made in the last 10 seconds" and it hurts my soul lol

It's seem our girl Sinder is a Hololive fan, which I did not know. I'm amazed that Sinder hasn't played this before.... I hope Sinder realizes that this game will take her even further down the 'rabbit hole'

For anyone trying this game out and are struggling. I'd recommend upgrading the main weapon as fast as you can. At least with a few damage upgrades, then maybe pick up two weapons to upgrade and any character skills. After that it's all about picking a playstyle and trying out different weapon/item combos.

55:35 Mumei is not harder to use, you're just not picking up weapons, lol. Defensive options will make you live longer, sure, but if you can't kill anything it's not gonna matter.

The difficulty spike from Stage 3 to Stage 4 is actually pretty sharp. She was doing pretty well all things considering. Stage 1 hard is technically easier than Stage 4, despite what the upgrade recommendations say.

Just standard new player behavior. Takes practice to build the knowledge and experience. It's fascinating to me how much shop upgrades actually do. Just looking at the levels at certain times really demonstrates this clearly. Not even hitting level 50 by 20 minutes for example.

55:40 The last game for Mumei could have been pulled out if you had raised her base weapon to the maximum level. And there were many opportunities to do so. Mumei is one of the strongest characters, her base weapon is at the maximum, stronger than some collaborations.

Eh, they use it differently. In this case, she’s saying “I’m cooked” to mean she’s screwed. They more say “let her cook” or “she’s been cooking”, to mean doing well or making something awesome. I do agree they use it WAY too much though.

If you press the escape button you can pause the game. I'm sure PC games usually have some insane code-based matrix you have to program to pause but Holocure is just one button.

@@chaoschalice yeah its called MOG and was a mini game in the first anny. Do to very positiv feedback and players crying they want to play it more, ShiftUp overworked some stuff added more weapons and added it to the game. But the first and rly popular game was pretty much VampireSurvivors.
