I often have to force myself to not turn off lights in public places when I'm leaving a room or something. Growing up, my father instilled in me a great appreciation for the value of money, and the many ways one can maximize their gains. One of the simplest ways, is to simply turn electrical things off when you're not using them, such as turning the lights off in a room when you leave (even if you're coming right back). So now in my adulthood, it's just second nature to do so without even thinking about it. So in tl;dr, I totally relate to that last person. I wouldn't have just kept walking away, though. I would've turned the light back on and apologized.

This made me remember a funny story I hadn't thought about in forever. I once threw up right in the middle of sex. I was doing some...uhh...recreational pharmaceuticals and got nauseous because of the motion. Worse still, my mom was home (this was back when I was a teenager) so I couldn't just run out and go to the bathroom. I ended up just kinda moving over and vomiting on the carpet next to my futon. Amazingly, the woman I was with didn't say anything and we both just kinda pretended it didn't happen and kept going. I had only known her a couple days and it was the first time we'd had sex....I thought it would also be the last but she never brought it up and we dated for like 8 months after that.

I've been that asshole who turns the light out on people in a McDonald's. When someone completely fucking destroys a toilet, I gotta clean that. There's a gas station next door that literally shares our parking lot, Wendy's on the other side (do not share a parking lot), and across the street is a taco bell/KFC. So there are many many toilets nearby they could go to instead, but they choose my restroom to ruin. So I flip the light off (one of those special fixtures you need a special fob to turn on and off. Very very difficult to mess with using anything else) and make them shit in the dark as punishment for what they're doing

So I used to go to a trade school and we had a shower shitter. Obviously nobody like this because they're communal showers, although typically we would use them one at a time because we respect each other's privacy. Gotta call BS on the McD's bathroom lights one. Worked at one for 16 years, and assisted at 2 other nearby locations. There are NO light switches in the bathrooms, or anywhere else. All lighting is operated off the fuse breaker panels.
