Bravo to Maestro Egarr! What a startlingly urgent, energized performance. The 'Dies Irae' is simply hair-raising -- I thought the violins would burst into flames. (It's a shame the audience didn't realize when the piece was over) Many many kudos to conductor, soloists and orchestra! Just brilliant!

The conductor, very good, looks like a cross between the Met James Levine and the gym guru Richard Simmons. The performance, in my unprofessional opinion, although I have sung this piece in Toronto and London (Ontario, sigh), is quite brilliant. The Lacrimosa is gripping and sharply done.

Did you perform it already? If not, just watch your breathing and prep yourself well beforehand...take it half time a few times. This guy speeds through it...hope your director does it at its normal pace. Channel your fear/negative thoughts into the performance. Takes practice, but you can do it. Use those emotions! Think of W.Z.M. and the performers during his time. Enjoy the ride! :)

Un Requiem demasiado rápido. De los más rápidos que he escuchado. Véase el Confutatis o el Lacrimosa. Exagerado. El que quiera que lo compare con la versión de Bohm o Bernstein a ver cuál prefieren. Y me pueden decir que para gustos hay colores pero yo les recuerdo un tema clave, ESTO ES UN REQUIEM

Too fast. One of the fastests i have ever listened. Criminal! Compare this with Bohm or Bernstein versions and choose your favorite. Take a look at the crazy Confutatis or Lacrimosa. Confutatis (2 minutes vs Bohm's 3:50), Lacrimosa (2:35 vs Bohm's 4:10). Karl Bohm is considered the most important Mozart director of the XX century. And you can say there are versions for all tastes but i have to remember one important thing, THIS IS A REQUIEM
