I find it interesting that Johnny is the only one that has to learn a whole new ability in both movies. In the first movie he had to learn how to play the piano, and in this movie he had to learn how to dance.

If I had to pick a favorite performance from Sing 2, it’d be Johnny’s. Seeing the struggles he went through in the story, I felt somewhat relatable. And him proving himself to the dance teacher during his performance was an awesome moment, it was enough to applaud for Johnny!

I love the parallel of the ending in this movie, it ends kinda the same way it begins, with a zoom in on buster’s face as a child, but this one ends on a zoom in on busters face with almost the same expression😊

Sing 2 is honestly a really good sequel. When I first watched it I didn’t quite like it but when I rewatched it for my Illumination Marathon I really liked it just like Sing 1.

One thing i dont know if you noticed, the parallel to Buster being a kid in Sing 1's Opening and having awe for the theater and and then in Sing 2 at the end they replicate the same shot showing Buster Moon in awe again but this time having made it and accomplished his life goals

Since Sing 3 is already in production, I hope they bring back Buster’s friend Eddie. He was absent from this second movie and perhaps John C. Reilly wouldn’t mind reprising the role and give him character development.

How is that redeemable, Johnny's dad had a better arc because he realized he was wrong when he heard his son sing and broke out of prison to tell him how much he loves him and how gifted he is. Also he did do community service. Mr. Crystal is a murderer, and he did in front of that whole audience. What kind of redemption can be made out of that?

Something I didn't realize the first time I watched this movie about the way Portia behaves is that she is not just a brat, she is desperate for positive attention because of the way her father treats her. Sure, he spoils her and gives her whatever she wants, but he does that automatically, without real intent behind it, and the second she looks bad he snaps at her, calls her a talentless loser, because he cares about his image more than he cares about her. The reason she completely overreacted at the first hint of criticism is probably because, in her experience, if she isn't doing amazing and being praised for it, that means she's hated and worthless. I wish they had made that a little more obvious because it took forever for me to realize that, but I find that really cool!

Disagree. The way she insulted Rosita by calling her old because of her panic attack automatically made me hate her. Portia sucks and she was late to rehearsals so she was unreliable to the role she snubbed from Rosita and yet she has the audacity to think she's an victim. I have no sympathy for that privilege nepotism entitled twat especially when she insulted Rosita and never apologized for it. So Portia can shove it.

@@summerrose8110 That's valid, it's fine to dislike her. I'm not saying her behavior is okay at all, I was just admiring the fact that there was actual background explaining that behavior, which isn't the case of all bratty privileged characters in media. It adds depth ^^

I’m so happy you guys are watching The sing movies! Thank you! 🙏🥰 This one is easily better than the first one🤩 then ending performances were so incredible and it’s more emotional. The new characters were fun, the group is more interesting with their struggles Like Rosita’s fear if heights, Meena’s new crush, Johnny having a hard time with his dance Instructor, etc. The new and bigger setting is so cool! ❤ Not to mention how Crystal is a really intimidating villain. I loved your reaction!

Now this was a very good sequel! I like how Sing 2’s story was handled. Since there were a lot of characters doing different things, I like how they were kept relevant to the plot, that would lead up to the big finale of the film. Speaking of which, the big performances at the climax was very impressive! They kept me on the edge of my seat with the exciting musical numbers and made me shed some tears in the process. Overall, Sing 2 really wowed me and has left me wanting to see more films down the road.

Like I mentioned in the first movie has great voice cast: Matthew McConaughey as Buster Moon Reese Witherspoon as Rosita Scarlett Johansson as Ash Taron Egerton as Johnny Singer, Tori Kelly as Meena Nick Kroll as Gunter Nick Offerman as Norman And, Jennifer Saunders as Nana Noodleman And in Sing 2 once again gets more amazing cast members Bobby Cannavale (Ant-Man) as Jimmy Crystal Australian Singer, Halsey as Porsha Crystal Letitia Wright (Black Panther) as Nooshy Eric André (The Lion King (2019)) as Darius And. Irish Singer, Bono as Clay Calloway. Again a Sing 3 is in Development. So the people they’ll get in this movie will be great Scarlett Johansson said she will love to work with Singer and Actress, Dolly Parton. That will be brilliant if they do get her.

I agree with your criticisms (though I didn't really care about Meena's thin plot, since personally, I was never a fan of her character to begin with, just personal preference). My biggest problem with this movie is absolutely that it felt too broad in scope for its runtime. While I understand why they wouldn't have done it, likely for a combination of funding reasons, the logistics of theater showings, and the target audience being children (which would've struggled twenty years ago, back when attention spans weren't nearly as bad as they are now), I really feel like this film would've benefited from an additional 30-45 minutes, just fleshing out characters, giving their arcs more breathing room, and allowing them to build on Porsha in particular, since she was both supposed to be important to the plot and an entirely new character. Still like it better than the first movie, just think that the premise was a bit too big for the product they were aiming to make, which leads to it feeling as though it didn't reach its full potential.
