In this video, learn how to hit high notes with the Arturo Melocchi Method. This technique, used by opera singers like Giancarlo Monsalve, can help you sing with a low larynx and achieve impressive results. But remember, this technique should only be attempted with proper training. For more information, visit www.theoldschoolofsinging.com and start your journey back to the Old School of Singing today. The Monsalve Leyton Method™ - bringing back the Old School of Singing, step by step, lesson by lesson, voice by voice.
Disclaimer:
In a performance scenario, I use the Manuel Garcia technique for such notes as B4, C5, or Db5. I normally use the Melocchi Method just for training.

Incredible singing. I notice that your speaking voice has some baritone quality to it, going down to around a low C# when speaking. When you first learned the low larynx technique did this cause any pain or has it always been effortless? Also, have you ever trained any baritones to use low larynx?

Thank you for your comment! Yes, my speaking voice is naturally in the baritone range. When I first started learning the low larynx technique, it did feel a bit uncomfortable at first and it took some time to get used to it. However, with practice, it became effortless and natural. As for training baritones, I have worked with many singers of different voice types and levels, including baritones. While the low larynx technique is more commonly associated with tenors, it can be beneficial for baritones as well. The key is to find the right balance and coordination in the voice, regardless of voice type.

@@giancarlomonsalve Yeah your voice can sound baritone-like when you speak. I mean not all tenors have to speak like tenors, and that's okay. They don't have to. Some basses might speak higher than they sing as if though they're baritones. This shows that you cannot 100% guarantee the type of voice someone has when you hear them talking. It usually works for most people to hear their speaking voice, but not for everyone.

Great tip, but i heard that you cannot lowering your larynx by spreading, using muscle of the throat,yawning etc, but only just by the power of respiration. When I take a big breath, my larynx schould lower naturally., and stay ion that position. What do you think about that? Is that true?
@giancarlomonsalve

That is false, the fact is that with the correct mechanism, as me and my students do, you can lower the larynx effortlessly even with mouth and nose closed. Thanks for the comment.

Does singing like this allow the voice to be agile for singing Rossini and similar composers ? It seems Del Monacos' voice wasn't that agile, also being able to do well articulated trills
