Really enjoyed this. However, for some reason, it's always been strange to me seeing groups lip synch gospel music. This show didn't have any live music

Are you sure? It seems to me that some of it is live, and some of it is lip synched.

@@Classic.Southern.Gospel I didn't see any live singing on this video or others I've seen. I'm not sure if they ever did have any. It can throw you off sometimes though because when Gold City sings "after I bow" they lip sync their live recording. That one was really strange because you can hear Tim talking on the live recording but he's clearly not on the performance on the show

@@blakeedmondson9573 Yes, I have a lot of the recordings of these songs, and I can tell that some of them are exactly like the recordings, including "After I Bow". So, I know those are lip synched. Others, though, seem to be a little different. For example, the Rusty Goodman songs seem to be live. The Hemphills songs seem to be a little different, too.

What years are these from?
@aarondowler24662 ай бұрын
I just heard Ben Speer say that the Speer family had been singing for 60 years and that they started in 1921. So that should be this recording at 1981.

That was the absolutely WRONG picture for this video.

The "newer" footage is mid 1980s. The "older" footage is early 1980s.

@@donaldharper8632 Really? Of the 3 they gave me, I liked it the best because it shows Mike Payne. But, I will change the picture.
@Classic.Southern.Gospel2 ай бұрын
Ok. I changed it to Karen Apple, but I'm afraid people won't know who that is.

What was this show anyway and why did they call it a satellite network? Like I need to know all about this thing in its like, historical context. Rusty was clearly heavily involved?
@Classic.Southern.Gospel2 ай бұрын
I don't know. Someone just gave me the videos, and I am putting them on KZbin. I believe it was a channel that you could only get on one of those big satellite dishes in the 1980s. The headquarters was Atlanta, GA, which was the Nelons headquarters, and I saw Kelly Nelon on there a lot. And, yes, the Goodmans were also heavily involved. That's about all I know.
