When I was a child, my dad would bring the whole family to the Popular Bookstore at Bras Basah to browse the books. Awesome place

Besides National library, there are many more library in islandwide Hub located at HDB Estate. They are also equally conducive and cosy environment. 😍

Excellent video detailing your experiences in this city. Wonderful day off esp for the kids. Books and reading are best for them. Those old stores in Bras Basah complex are really nice, often forgotten. The National Library and the South Beach building are awesome.

Now this is memory lane for me. In those days, Bras Basah Complex wasn't even built. The book stores in Bras Basah Complex used to be along Bras Basah Road, Victoria Street and North Bridge Road. It is where we students used to go to buy our text books and reference books, also to get our GCE "O" & "A" examination papers for practice purposes. I'm sure that some of them still have these available.

Bras Basah Complex is just behind the hotel I usually stay in…so we watched South Beach go up over a couple of trips. Those malls underneath Esplanade/City Hall and citylink malls are a regularly stomping ground for me on a visit. Looks like they have populated the South Beach a bit more

@@WONDERLUSTworld Cadbury chocolate bar, milk chocolate base with the tops of the squares being white chocolate. Normally needs a supermarket as its the larger bar format (about twice the size of the pandan bar in this vlog). I tend to grab mine from the Jasons marketplace in Raffles City Mall because its closest to where we normally stay.
