Going to the same place multiple times, or with different people makes things completely different 100%! Been to Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan each like 2-4 times and it's great being able to try new things, re-visit spots you've missed, or get enjoyment showing close ones, like parents, these sorts of experiences and places maybe they've never been before. These personal touches on your channel really resonate (especially the video with your dad), another great video Ricky!

I really like to go to second cities (say Busan or Kaohsiung) on a second trip after making a first trip to a main city (Seoul or Taipei). Once you've seen the major sites in the big cities, you have time for side trips on subsequent visits. And since the cost is the same when you're paying in miles, I've started planning my trips in a way that includes these kinds of side trips. (Also, Guangzhou is really nice, so I'd say it's totally worth flying through there or Shenzhen even when you want to go to Hong Kong in any case. The border crossing between Hong Kong and the mainland is an adventure in and of itself.)

Really enjoyed your explaination of choosing travel each year based on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd+ time visits. Something I’ve been thinking about as well. Theres tons of countries I’d like to visit but also the places I’ve fallen in love with that I’d love to return to.

I rarely spend more than five days in one country because there are so many places in the world to see. To me, five days is enough for me to see if the country is to my liking or not for second or multiple returns. For example, I’ve returned three times to Chile. First time to Patagonia. Second time to Easter Island. Last time to Atacama desert. Another example would be Montenegro. I only been there once and once is enough. I think it’s a beautiful country and people are nice. But I can’t see myself returning. I’m returning to Bali this summer for the first time in ten years. I can’t wait!
