Singapore - Chinatown 牛车水 | Chinese New Year Street Market 2023

Singapore Chinatown is known as Niu Che Shui (牛车水) literally translated as “Ox-cart water”. The Year of the Rabbit is fast approaching and Chinatown is gearing up for a bountiful Chinese New Year. This will be the 1st CNY with no more Covid restrictions. Join me for this walk before the human tide comes. So beautiful Singapore during CNY festival From this video saw almost 75% is local people 👍 and got a hall for senior citizens to enjoy their activities so happy as well have CNY feel whole places full of lightings In Malaysia Chinatown 50% foreigners worker and local people 25% tourists 25% Don’t feel like wanna shopping there

Chinatown’s water supply used to be transported by bullock carts or ox-carts in the 19th century. Back then, the Chinese called this place Niu Che Shui 牛车水. The Malays called it Kreta Ayer translating to Bullock cart water.

About 44---45 days after the winter solstice, the day Sun/earth relative position such that the Sun cross the 23.5 degree latitude South from South to North. Now most Chinese take the day on the lunar calendar, so for 2023, it's 22 January
