I watch ALOT of Singapore videos and it just hit me watching this one, I rarely see any police. A city with 5,000,000 people and police are hard to find. I guess that's a good thing considering I live in the USA......as I continued watching ,I did see a group of 4 cops....but still....Singapore is truly amazing

They also have the lowest rates for both homicides and felonies of any sovereign nation in the world today. (Japan is second lowest for both categories of crime.) Gun ownership and gun related crime are nearly non existent in Singapore, even though male citizens receive firearms training as part of their mandatory military service.

You can live in Singapore and not see a single policeman. or a traffic policeman, for a whole year. No kidding. Reason is the Police Force is relatively small and leverage on technology such as electronic surveillance to ensure public safety and security. Physical patrols are minimal and only in strategic places. Also, banks, goldsmith shops, pawnshops etc where valuables are held in custody rely on alarms connected to and monitored by the police. Singapore has extremely strict gun laws where firearms are strictly control or banned. illegal possession or use of firearms can draw the death penalty so this deter violent crimes like what one can see in some countries. Lastly, Singapore is a small country. It takes only 20-30 minutes to go from North to South, East to West so the police can respond easily and swiftly to any crime scene.

_Ah yes, Alan on his trusty bike. Was wondering when he'd cycle again. Some skillful cycling in the city on a sunny day. That was a marathon ride of 1.5 hours. The city backdrop looks fabulous! Singapore used to be truly clean in the 90s....then gradually came the foreigners, now more than a third of our population are foreigners staying here and they may not share the same love and pride we Singaporeans have for Singapore. Genuine Singaporeans do not litter.

Can you do this Great ride, I used to live in Singapore and would ride on Sunday AM starting at St Martin and Tanglin Road and go past Tudor Court on my left and then turn keft onto Grange road and follow Grange Road to a right on to Kim Seng Road then a left at Singapore River path to Clark Quay to Boat Quay to Merlion at Fullerton then left over to Opera house along the path to under the helical bridge past the Singapore flyer and under the ECP then follow the path under ECP again past Duck Tour Ramp to Kalang passing under Nicoll Highway bridge to left under Crawford St bridge, to follow Rocher River path to Victoria Street going past Bugis to a Right turn on to Stamford Road following it past SMU on my right then past National Museum of Singapore on my left along Penang road past Dhoby Ghaut bus station to Somerset Road past Pan Pacific Hotel on my right and Scape Youth Park on my left and then turn on to Grange Road and follow Grange to then turn right on to Orchard Boulevard petal past ION Mall on your right cross over Paterson Road following Grange Road to Tomlinson Road and follow Tomlinson Road crossing over Cuscaden Road back to Tanglin Road and St Martin Road where I STARTED. Japan is cleanest nation n sg second...japanese r taught very young to be socially responsible n clean up yr. own rubbish publically...smokers carry their own disposible ash trays...responsible citizens sweep the whole row of houses/shops not only his own....most impressive I saw was a lady who cleaned the commercial laundry machine cleaner than when new... the public roads r free of debris n rubbish...n they really take re-cycling seriously.... Japan is first.

Ratio-wise, Singapore has more foreigners than Japan. In the 90s, Singapore was truly very clean, then foreigners started coming to stay and work and they may not share the same love and pride as genuine Singaporeans have for our country. @@ifuknjk You’re wrong. I said ratio-wise. Singapore has a core population of 3.5 millions. 2 millions are foreigners who are either permanent residents or workers. More than 20 millions tourists in 2019... Japan has a population of 125 millions. With only 2.8 millions foreign workers. With just 30 millions visitors in 2019. Can you do maths? Which country has more foreigners? Ratio wise.... In 2019, tiny Singapore had 20 millions visitors m whereas Japan had only 30 millions...

Hi Sir Allan, also a Walker videographer doing different sorts of short videos from Philippines. I got the chance to visit SG for the 3rd time. I got into videography during covid while on WFH...I got a GoPro 7 silver as a starter and did some - well short clips and uploaded them on my YT channel...now I am lucky to get a gift this Nov - Hero 11 and started doing "walk tours" in SG! LUCKILY I stumble on your Walking Tour Channel and got inspired by the " immersive " approach - i know the sociological /philosophical meaning of immersion and Yes I agree with you that videography should be immersive, informative by sharing travel memories i.e to " Live Life"... just walk when you still can...so to say... I used to work with an International NGO working with Indigenous Peoples in South Soytg East Asia and unfortunately I was not yetinto videography that time probably because of time constraints - editing take lots of time... I am very inspired by your Immersive digital WORK - they are very Clean - visuals, sounds and edit production...VERY PROFESSIONAL...no commentaries/ nonsense talks just "capturing the moment" and letting the "Viewers become co- walker in the process" (enjoy THE RIDE PH) I am a new subscriber of your channel of which I seldom do - I am so inspired but at the same time feel unfortunate that you already seem to cover everything in SG haha...your standard and quality Walk Tours are way way beyond other walk tour contents! It was a happy week long Birthday celebration for me and my Partner taking footages around Stunning (but pricey SG haha...). I hope you also have time to watch my YT channel and comment for fyrther improvement - who knows you might visit PH am I will work with you on some projects...
