In Japan, a woman can walk around in the middle of the night and nothing will happen. An elementary school student can ride a train at midnight. Even in the most unsafe places in Japan, you will probably only be accosted by drunks. And dropped wallets are usually returned.

My bag was snatched and I lost everything. I was almost raped. Though I’m 100% Japanese, I look SouthAsian. I can’t count how many Japanese guys have suddenly touched my body on the street. A few of them have kicked my leg. I used to live in America. There are two big differences between the two countries. One is, Japanese people think it’s embarrassed to be a victim. Second is, Japanese people believe that their national characteristic is the best in the world. There’s a Japanese girl who was raped in a dorm of American university. After she came back to Japan, she decided to go back to THE PLACE SHE WAS RAPED because she couldn’t stand being considered shame. Many Japanese people get mad to hear that I have faced more crimes and “racism” in Japan than in America. Many of them say it must be my fault(Those Japanese people are very shy and polite to Westerners). That’s why many Japanese people hide that they have been victims. That’s why Japanese OFFICIAL crime rate is low.

Contact an immigration firm to help you with visa, you can’t just move there, french passport doesn’t open this door. A job can sponsor your visa but depends on the job. I agree with needing to earn at least 100k. Rent is at least $500 per WEEK for a small 1 bedroom apartment and there are not many of those in NZ. But lots of houses and units. Which cost more. Or you go flatting. auckland is the only big city with job opportunities and then there is Wellignton- terrible weather and Christchurch with around 300k residents. Rest of nz are small cities and towns under 50k people. And you need to drive, oublic transport is almoust inexistent

Japan does have a lot of s*xual crimes that go unreported there. I've lived in the country for 2 years, and heard many stories of perverts going around flashing themselves, groping women, or stealing underwears, more than my three decades spent in Switzerland. Real estate agencies go as far as avoiding ground floor apartment for their female tenants because of stolen underwears if they leave them to dry outside. It is pretty safe from grave crimes though.

Came from the States to Florence, Italy, in 2015, for college (in my 60s). Two years of school and I had to return to the States for 3 months. I was miserable, especially watching the hatred and anger being fed and boiling over with the orange clown in the White House. Moved here permanently in January, 2018, and became a dual citizen March, 2021. I am now a 70-year-old woman and I never felt safer in my home than now, plus I have no fear walking my small dog anywhere in Florence, day or night. Not to mention the history and FOOD. @@paulsmith1981 That's an interesting theory and very popular with racisty people in America. This neo-American proto-fascist conspiro version of "logic" would claim: country X has ZERO violence against women, because it has NO women; therefore it is a great friendly country. But in the fact-based community, this is pretty ridiculous. Canada is the most multicultural country and one on the top countries measured by safety, political stability and one of the least racist. Hungary is one of the racist and most antisemetic countries in the OECD.
@paulsmith1981
@paulsmith1981 Жыл бұрын
@@kf9346 If country X had no women at all then that country would have zero violence against women. Which is logically correct. You just added on an additional parameter correlating violence against women as a measure of all types of crime which is illogical. Until recently Canada had a supper European majority. Its ultra multiculturalism is a recent thing which is being driven by ideology not logic. The fact is interethnic conflicts form the vast majorities of conflicts globally. Which is all to evident in Israel today. I can also point to Rwanda, Chechnya, Iraq, Indonesia, Northern Ireland, Yugoslavia, Democratic republic of the Congo. South Africa. Turkey. Myanmar. The Sudan. Ethiopia. and Somal as hotbeds of interethnic tensions. Calling people racist doesn't change facts. Human nature is impervious to ideology It dictates how people behave in multiethnic or multireligious countries not someone utopian fantasy.

This was a very informative video. However, I do wish that you had included in your assessment some measure of diversity or even attitudes towards diversity. Part of feeling safe in visiting or even living in a country is feeling comfortable. The way to assess this for many people is how the country feels about diversity. We are living in a global world as well as a diverse one, and it's not something that should be taken for granted or ignored because it is a factor for some folks especially as it relates to personal safety. So, if you do future videos on this, I hope you consider it. Thanks

I moved to Sweden 22 years ago to settle down for life. I had visited Sweden many times and knew that I had made the perfect choice. I felt confident in my choice and became a father 12 years ago. Now Sweden has gone from almost lowest to easily highest when it comes to murder due to gun crime, in Europe. About 350 shootings a year when it previously had around 20 a year. Many more assaults on women which is worrying as I have a teenage daughter. My once perfect city is unsafe and I myself have been attacked for getting in someones way, my daughter has been threatened with execution at school. It is a huge worry and I feel so sad with todays developments. 15 years ago, perhaps even 10 years ago, Sweden would have surely been in the top 10. Edit: Doing a quick search Sweden left the top 10 sometime after 2015 after being top 10 for all years leading up to that from what I could see.

Well, in fact Iceland is very safe. I was there in the 90s and what the Icelanders told me by that time was that it is much more likely that you will commit suicide than to become a victim of a crime. In fact Iceland in the 90s had a suicide rate that was 100 times higher than the rate of murdering! People commited suicide because of the lonelyness, the cold and depressive weather and that there is little to do. So, Iceland is a great place to visit as a tourist but I would never ever like to live there!

What more do we Americans need to hear before CONSIDERING that a) citizens should not own guns (the original intent of the founders was that MILITIAS should exist to PROTECT THE GOVERNMENT FROM INSURRECTIONISTS…despite the lies of the NRA); b) that the competitive, lonely, racist and classist society we’ve created is literally killing us; and c) that we could stand to LEARN from these other countries??
@7thsealord888
@7thsealord888 Жыл бұрын
Imo, a big problem for you guys is that private gun ownership in the USA is an industry worth BILLIONS - more than the entire defense budgets of most other countries in the world. Obviously, the corporations profiting from this want to keep doing so, so they play to people's paranoia and then wave a flag over the entire mess they create. Ironically, the NRA was originally in favor of gun registration and control, now it is a corporate shill whose answer to all problems and issues is MORE GUNS!
