Agree, the braised duck rice is good and cheap. Malay stalls there very good too. The curry rice stall ex and so so, tried that before. It’s business is good as it’s the only mixed rice stall there that seems decent enough. The famous Yong Tau Foo stall has gone down in standard.

Piggy Puggy The Hawker Voyeur . Noodles and duck rice that roast chicken looked yummy as well as the pick and mix stall not much longer till I get to there. I remember the Police in Khaki old left over British tropical dress when Officers wore Sam Browne belts and other ranks webbing belts blanco'd for ceremonial or guard duties (HK was similar)

😂🤣 The Hawker Voyeur.. you put it eptly.. I wish I could film folks enjoying their food too 😅 Actually.. I think the police have recently adopted shorts again.. like those US bike and street patrol units. Shorts and polo T. But the a British Khaki ones with silver buttons were still way cooler 😎
@Morgan_Au2 жыл бұрын
@@Piggypuggy Yes it had that old colonial tropical look. If I remember my history the shorts, tunic and beret were adopted by SQ police because they recruited a lot of ex Gurka's into the police after they were demobed a couple of years after the war. I think that was how the story went. Not sure of the full details and they changed to the blue in early 70's

Another underrated FC! Anyway have been planning a trip to this FC again (last visit was sometime in year 2019 I think) after reading a recent review from a famous food blogger of the Duck Noodles from Shi Ji .... and your video made me hungry 1st thing in the morning. The duck rice stall is always my default to-go whenever I'm around the area .... one of the rare places where its still below $4 and old-school/authentic braised duck

@@Piggypuggy 🤣 YES YES YES although my mom will go for Fish and Fish Soups or Herbal Soups, in Philippines we don't get common food like Ducks & Frogs. Most of their foods are grilled or deep fried. Street foods can cause food poisoning (happened to me) What I hope to get my hands .. er eh 😂 more like to get my mouth and teeth onto are "Roast Duck, Braised Duck, Kway Chap minus the Tau Pok (too oily), Beef Noodles Soup, Mutton Soups can be Chinese style or halal style, & Spring onions ginger Frogs". I think I might also go for mutton curry / rendang with a little bit of nasi briyani because I can't really eat spicy foods even though I missed it. I don't eat pork so the Halal sections of food courts in Singapore is super useful. Often a dish can be made with Pork lard even if it's not a pork dish, so I always look for the halal certificate.
@Piggypuggy2 жыл бұрын
This is one thing I'm also not sure about. Is it mandatory to have the halal sicker? Coz I see many Malay stalls without the display too.. so I also asked if a dish doesn't include pork at all.. eg. Chicken curry noodles..would it be considered Halal. I tried a Maggie goreng fried chicken during my visit there.. which I'll release soon. This hawker centre has a complete section of Malay food stalls which is perfect for halal dinners 😋👍
