Finally a KZbinr who comes to Singapore and covers malay food 👏🏼
@kolorijo44982 жыл бұрын
Is it rendang from Malay? Well, Indonesia have mie, rujak and satay also. Pls stop claiming all the stuff are from 'malay' 🤦🏽♂️
@rinairfan2 жыл бұрын
@@kolorijo4498 Singaporean Malays also have mixed of indonesian... some of us are descendants of Javanese, Boyanese, Sundanese... so our cuisine are mixed of different races. So yes, Singaporean Malay have their own version of Rojak, Satay and Rendang. I, myself is a mixed of Malay, Java and Indian. So pls do not try to play the claiming game in Singapore... we are from different ethnicity and we dont mind it...
@yoominbi2 жыл бұрын
@@kolorijo4498 ain't Indonesia also part of the Malay Archipelago 🤷🏻♂️ And this is in the context of in Singapore, so be it Indonesian (Javanese, Padang, etc.) food and Malaysian (the country) food, it will be generalised as Malay food. Same as Chinese food and Indian food, where eg. Indian food has South Indian, North Indian, Pakistani cuisine, but it will just be generalised as Indian food. So don't get your panties in a bunch.
@kolorijo44982 жыл бұрын
@@rinairfan I am not talk about ras or ethnicity in person here. He/she's lack of knowledge of food. I'm afraid someday Papeda, Kondro etc would be generalized as Malay food then people in Singapore or tourists thinking its from Malay/Malaysia. Oh one more, satay is one of south east Asia food tho, you can find it too in Thailand . 😉
@kolorijo44982 жыл бұрын
@@yoominbi what a joke. So satay is a country food/Malay food? How about roti canai in Malaysia you 'label' it as a Malay food too? How about rendang and other food? Anyway, we have never claimed Nasi Lemak is a Indonesia Food 🤭 oh..You said Malay archipelago and compare it in food generally, really?? Before you speak about food, I suggest you to learn the Indonesia Geography first.

The lime in Mee Rebus is the finishing touch, it can remove the oiliness; Putu Piring looks very tempting, and it is sold in a very modern way; Curry puff is an Indian snack that looks bigger than Indian one; Rojak is a vegetable and fruit salad with a spicy peanut sauce; Satay originated in Indonesia, usually the meat is marinated in sauce before roasting; Singapore's food is really rich and diverse, thank you for sharing!👍😃👏 第一道馬來滷麵的酸橙是畫龍點睛,可去油膩;嘟嘟糕看起來很誘人,它的販售方式很現代化; 咖哩餃是一道印度小吃,但看起來比印度的大;羅惹是一種蔬果沙拉,加上香辣的花生醬而成; 沙嗲是起源於印尼,通常肉以醬汁先醃過再烤;新加坡的美食真的是豐富而多樣化,謝謝分享!

Just a note. For Malay satay, always choose mutton and babat (tripe, if available). If you encounter a Chinese satay stall, then pork satay is the default. Also putu piring is made with rice flour, not coconut. The coconut shavings are just a garnish, albeit an important one. Cheers!

Hi there… I’m a big fan of your channel… Welcome to Singapore though I think you may be heading to another nice place soon… Just wanna share about the Merlion symbol… The lion head actually represents the name of Singapore which actually stands for the Lion City… Locally we call this country Singapura, which was given by a legendary prince who landed on this island and claimed to have seen a Lion in the jungle, though scientifically it’s hard to find any evidence on that yet. He then decided to reside and make a kingdom here and officially called it Singapura, aka Singapore. And for the bottom-fish side represents a city of fishermen. This is because Singapura, during those days, before the landing of the prince it was called Temasek, the island was known to be a port for many fishermen who landed or reside here and many small islands surrounding it. Till now Singapore is still remembered as a former fishermen’s village. So, I hope this may be helpful and I hope to see you again here. Enjoy your next trip and I’m still looking for new posts by you.
