Singapore Introduces Edible Insects in Food Menus | Firstpost America
Insects are being hailed as superfoods in today’s time. The UN says they are rich in proteins and antioxidants. And now the Singapore Food Agency or the SFA, has approved a list of 16 insects that people in Singapore can now consume. The list has species of insects like crickets, honey bees, and worms. And all these insects have been deemed to be of low regulatory concern. And now, the food industry in Singapore is fluttering its wings with joy as it can finally sell insect delicacies. Many are even planning to introduce a full-fledged insect-inspired menu. Watch the video to know more.

No, not true, it is a sustainable way of living approved by many people. Insect eating isnt new to the world either, people have been practicing it since ancient times with no fear or guilt. Coloniser's mindsets is what led this long established tradition to be wiped off and has developed a psychological tradition of treating it as "gross". Indian values do not allow eating any kinda non vegetarian and we believe in ahimsa. North East Indians are predominantly tribals and we respect their culture. They eating insects is fine as they are close to nature and are sustainable and don’t harm nature. Are Singaporeans tribals? No right? So your comparison is invalid.

Also, it’s just once than we sent toxic spices otherwise it’s always fine! We are the spice capital of the world and we have so much gold because of our spice exports since times immemorial. Our spices generated wealth is what attracted invaders and they made our country miserable! At least know the context before making stupid comments 😒

Singapore has been eating bugs since decades ( if not centuries ) . they were being sold 2 decades ago as fried, roasted or plain dried. They call themselves Buddhists but are extremely cruel with insects.
